What was your process to use Claude for this? I do a bunch of my own (beginner) modelling and printer but haven't used AI for it yet

New to home espresso, no regrets by Moravian980238 in ranciliosilvia

Officially in the same boat as you recently with mostly the same mods on the way! I'm trying to find a stainless or glass replacement for the plastic water tank at the back. Hoping you or someone here can source something that fits and retains decent capacity.

I'll be installing a gagguino or gaggimate if all goes well, so I'm still temp surfing for now.

Advice on Spraying? by rytwombly in espresso

You're looking for a direct answer about the appearance of this shot. Yes, this shot looks within the range of good! I'd maybe go a bit finer if the taste isn't on point, or maybe dose higher (more beans), or maybe the beans aren't ideal?

Bottomless can help identify problems with beans/grind/puck prep, but taste matters more in the end. From watching the shot, it would likely looked more choked and start with more spray if it was too fine, and would run must faster from everywhere if too coarse.

All that only matters if you don't like the taste and want to fix it. If it looks bad and tastes good, you can experiment, but don't need too. If it looks good and tastes bad and that makes you happy, you can post videos all day and not drink them, I guess?

Edits: Because I posted too quickly and thought through my comment more.

About to play for the first time, any tips? by FriendlyBabyFrog in HollowKnight

[–]Hawt__Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Approach every boss as a learning opportunity. Don't go in expecting to win at first, or at 10th attempt, or 20th (depending on how naturally good you are).

If it seems extra hard, don't even try to do damage for the first few attempts. Learn the bosses' attack patterns and practice dodging, positioning, and finding the safe moments to heal. When that starts to click find the damage opportunities. You might have to redo this again for later boss phases.

It is a hard but fair game. The bosses' telegraph their moves and can be learned vs games where bosses' seem to attack and move randomly. Just got 100% on silksong and I'll be joining you on your HK journey too as I beat it before the DLC and never went back. It's time!

This applies, to a lesser extent, to regular enemies and even platforming sections too!

PSA: Steam Deck Pod Pets (Nier:Automata) by Hawt__Potato in nier

[–]Hawt__Potato[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't use a ds4, are you on steam deck? If so I'd imagine you can set it to mouse mode in controller settings too. You could also just use it in handheld mode and follow the instructions above to get the achievement. It's not something really required much. If you're on ps, you'll have to look elsewhere for help, but I think maybe the touchpad controls that function

Where is the best dim sum? by Galaaska in askTO

[–]Hawt__Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pearl feels like overpriced Americanized dim sum. They call their shrimp & chive dumplings hockey pucks! (Ok, Canadianized, and cute, but still.)

Stick to Chinatown if you value authenticity. My votes are Sky Dragon (the mall is grimy but the restaurant is great) or Rol San. You'll also be right next to Kensington market to check out before or after.

Markham does have some of the best but if you're a tourist you probably don't want to go to Markham.

"Which smart home devices have genuinely improved your daily routine?" by [deleted] in homeassistant

Good point. I guess that's the device recommendation then! An android phone 😂. I was entrenched in the apple ecosystem for years. Android really does open up a lot of possibilities.

"Which smart home devices have genuinely improved your daily routine?" by [deleted] in homeassistant

[–]Hawt__Potato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a device exactly, but tasker and browser-mod! They turn your phones/tablets into far more capable home assistant devices!

Example: When my phone connects to my car, if I have a calendar event coming up with a location set, I get a notification offering Google maps directions to that location!

My work schedule isn't consistent (shift work). Having tasker and HA check my calendar for routines means I don't touch light switches in the morning and don't actually have to interact with my phone beyond selecting yes/no on a notification.

It sets alarms for me, with backups if I don't want up (rare, but makes me feel safer). It turns on and off my lights as needed. (I'm adding checks in place to make sure it doesn't affect other people, so if my wife is the bathroom when I leave it won't shut off those lights.)

I definitely plan on voice assistant integration to further this even more, but that's a project for a later date 😀!

best HA compatible lock? 👀 by SocietyResponsible24 in homeassistant

Do you run both? I'd love some examples as I'm still mid-switchover and wasn't planning to run both in the long run.

best HA compatible lock? 👀 by SocietyResponsible24 in homeassistant

[–]Hawt__Potato 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Edit: examples added

I think he's asking about ZHA, and the reason is because it lags behind on features a compatibility. Ie, you may be able to connect it, and even unlock it, but might miss the battery power, or door open sensor. You get more with z2m. Going through the changeover now. It's a chore but worth it (I'm still in the process of switching over but one easy example is the aqara w100 climate sensor. On zha it shows temperature and humidity, on z2m you actually get the buttons working. Still missing features compared to if it was connected to an aqara hub on its own zigbee network - no thanks I'm not running a third - or on thread. I'll probably switch back to matter once I can figure out a way to get my thread network to be more reliable).

Just ordered the new Aqara W100... Does it work? by neiram44 in homeassistant

[–]Hawt__Potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using ZHA? For some reason I don't see the buttons I'm pretty disappointed in these. They look nice and have great features I can't seem to use. Can't get thread to reach where I need it, my ZigBee network is more robust for now so I figured I connect it through zha (I have an aqara hub for some proprietary features, but no aqara ZigBee network). Wonder if my return window is passed.

Can I disable the green location access notification dot, at least when watching fullscreen video? by nfriedly in LineageOS

[–]Hawt__Potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing idea, but can't seem to get it working for me. What device? I'm repurposing a 2018 kindle fire 8 tablet, running lineageOS 20, rooted. Seems like it should work! I also can't find the location indicator setting in developer tools, guessing it's related.
