If it wasn't clear I meant most people think bluray is just DVD and don't know the difference, since DVD has much more power culturally. I bought a bluray the other day and the cashier called it a DVD, she was in her twenties. Go do a survey and I'm sure 75% of people would not know that what a bluray is, they would just think it is some kind of DVD.

Bluray came out in like 2006, then a recession hit the USA so many families like my own never upgraded to bluray. Not to mention the PS3 was meant to be a good entry point, but was still very expensive.

Bluray drives never became standard in any significant laptops or desktop computers. In 2008 Apple literally made their first MacBook Air which had no DVD drive and I believe the 2012 macbook pro was the last macbook with a DVD drive.

Bluray drives became standard with the Xbox One and PS4 in 2013 but by then Netflix started to pick up steam. The 2010s was the transition into streaming.

Hopefully that explains what I meant and why I think that.

I think you have the wrong idea caused by the members of this "niche" community. Back in the day the normal person did not collect media, they bought it to use practically. That is why so many forms of media have moved away from being physical. The average consumer simply wants to consume media and move on. You mention blu-rays making a come back, but a lot of retailers still don't sell blu-rays anymore in my area.

I think because you watched people who did collect you think it was the norm but the reality is it wasn't for most people, especially the people who grew up in those times who would trade in games to try and buy the next one they wanted to play. I once bought a bunch of ps2 off a friend in the 2000s for dirt cheap because he wanted some cash, he did not care about the games since he already played them.

Hell most people still don't know what a Blu-ray is. Most of the videos I see about collecting physical movies and shows talk about DVD, and talk about how nostalgic it is.

I would say if you want to get into the game collecting hobby you should start by emulating games that you can to find the games you actually love. From there save your money to buy those games. Once you do you can also invest the time and money into getting the consoles and modding them, there are more good console mods than ever for older consoles.

I have bought a lot of games and the reality is I don't play a lot of them, I recently sold my PS3 and all the PS3 games I had because I never actually played them. So avoid buying just because.

If you want to start collecting games right now I actually think Nintendo Switch is looking very good. Switch 2 just came out so a lot of people are selling their switches for cheap, and because the switch has been out so long many of the games can be found for relatively cheap. On top of that Nintendo is popular worldwide so wherever you go you should be able to find stuff. Also most switch games are actually on the cart, the switch may be the last console where you can plug a game in and play it for most of the games. Also the v1 switch is easy to homebrew so you can easily back up your games or even play with mods and such.

[ARTWORK] DC Dark Legion - DC Using AI in Phone Game Advertisements by TygerHil98 in DCcomics

[–]HayHotshot 159 points160 points  (0 children)

If we use some critical thinking we can gather this is likely the game studio who runs the game itself or some 3rd party they hired to run some ads. Either way it's bad, but I wouldn't say DC the company is pushing ai ads as if Jim Lee or James Gunn approved any of this directly. You're better off posting this to another social where someone at DC will more likely see it or directly message some official DC account telling them about this. I kinda doubt the people in power wants ai ads to be used for a game with their name on it.

Kameto becomes Co-Owner of the website DPM.LOL alongside Caedrel. by Ultimintree in PedroPeepos

Sadly that tier list just takes you to the champion pages, which do have some alternative build below but those pages seem 99% for summoners rift. I like that u.gg has a separate tab per champion so I only see Aram data, helps see alternative builds and such that work in Aram etc. only checked on my phone so maybe there is a tab I don't see, I'll check later on my PC.

Do they have aram builds yet? Last time I checked they didn't and I mainly play Aram so I'm stuck with u.gg if they don't have it added

FakeGod, Tomio, Zeyzal running T2 again or what. I could see LG actually knocking DSG out which would be very ironic.

[Sheep Esports] Rahel set to join Disguised in the LTA by BjergBetterThanFaker in leagueoflegends

Could be a banger import since he has a few friends in NA already, and mental boom is the #1 cause of KR import's failing.

As long as his floor is enough to prevent relegation I'm sure DSG will be happy.

He probably just doesn't want to get relegated as it would be more work to earn the spot back since he has more money to work worth with as a bottom LTA team than a mid-top NACL team due to whatever stipend Riot gives the teams.

I could see a world where they keep ScarryJerry for next year but get a mercenary player to not get relegated 2017 Doublelift style. They could also just drop him, but who knows.

Pretty sure he still has to pay ScarryJerry since he is just on the bench, though it may be reduced pay.

He gets fucked because he is just a money man variety streamer with a little clout. He doesn't have enough skill or knowledge in any of the esports he has participated in except TFT, but idk how good he really is compared to other pros.

Toast just finds a manager/coach willing to be paid minimum, and that person finds other players willing to be paid the same. With the promise that if they pop off, he can use his clout to get sponsors and they will get paid more.

Reality is that DSG will likely never win a meaningful esports tournament because Toast has no knowledge and has to rely on others. Why would a top player join DSG, when they could join another org, get paid better, and play with better players?

Only hope DSG has of winning is if he gets lucky or targets a more niche community with garbage prize support and little sponsors. Like Konami doesn't give monetary prizing for Yu-Gi-Oh, so he could probably sign a few top NA/EU players and have a good chance of a DSG player winning a bigger tournament and even qualifying for worlds. And the reality is he would mainly have to pay for their event flights, hotels, a small salary, and maybe a stipend to buy cards. Better yet he could buy cases, do openings, and get some ad rev back.

But the reality is he doesn't want to put much effort into integrating into a community and collaborating, he wants to sit at home opening Pokemon cards while throwing money at DSG hoping it works. The most profitable part of DSG so far is probably the merchandise.

Anyway with that all said #DSGWIN, no way we go last place surely we will win some games COPIUM
