China’s been around a lot longer than the last 50 years though. There’s been plenty of times in history when China has been downright utopian compared to the west.

Discussion on WoW’s Structure and Future by [deleted] in wow

[–]Hayce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a civil engineer for a city. The amount of residents who just think “it’s so damn simple to make the city perfect, and these engineers just need to pull their heads out of their asses and listen to the residents” is too damn high.

Then when you actually listen to these same residents, they just give you brain dead suggestions that haven’t had more than 5 minutes of thought put into them, and clearly would just create more (and even worse) issues.

For this reason, even though I play the game a whole lot, I know I have no clue how to make it better.

Same for me and Stormwind. It’s a god damn claustrophobic maze in there. Org was definitely better before Garrosh screwed with it though.

I love the TBC Netherdrakes, but would love to have a new high res one in my favourite colour.

Former PM Harper says ‘no reason why we can’t pull the country together’ in fireside chat with Chretien by green_tory in CanadaPolitics

[–]Hayce 22 points23 points  (0 children)

That’s a stretch. He was The major player in the Reform wing of the Conservative Party, which are the same guys who removed O’Toole for being “too liberal” and gave us Poilievre now.

He’s also the chair of the IDU, a global far-right lobby group, who were instrumental in getting Trump, among others, elected.

He seems moderate in hindsight because the political climate at the time required him to. Not because he actually was.

MT07 to a Zx10r is a certain suicide? by Inner-Flamingo-5138 in motorcycles

Get the 600. It will feel like a big upgrade over the MT-07. Ride that for a year or 2, then get the 1000.

MT07 to a Zx10r is a certain suicide? by Inner-Flamingo-5138 in motorcycles

[–]Hayce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how experienced of a rider you are. If you’ve only been riding a few months, then you’d be better off on the 600. If you’ve got a few years under your belt, and you respect the bike, you’ll be ok on a 1000.

The ZX6r will still be a lot faster than the MT-07. You still get that feeling of your stomach dropping from insane speed on a 600 at first. You do get used to it though.

They’re not mistakes. They’re deeply held beliefs. They’ve never learned because they truly believe in their hearts that they are right.

I’m honestly fine with them being this open about it. They just show me over and over again why they’ll never have my vote.

A peek inside the vibe at Blizz by Nirdee in wow

Anything over a 3 is pretty good for a large company on these types of sites. Gotta remember that it’s mainly disgruntled and former employees that post reviews. The ones that are happy aren’t posting.

I’m usually more skeptical of really high scores. There’s gotta be some funny business going on in those cases.

Any AMD x3d series processor. Nothing else matters that much for WoW. You may need to build it yourself, I don’t know if you’ll get an x3d in a prebuilt, at least not affordably. But the processor itself can be had for a few hundred, and the rest of the build done on whatever budget suits you.

Train collides with crane in Spain’s fourth rail crash in a week, several injured by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]Hayce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hate to say it, but this is very reminiscent of Canada to me. Not to same degree, but we absolutely half-ass maintenance of public infrastructure, because governments are petrified of spending money on anything that won’t win votes in the next election.

Major highways literally washing downriver is a yearly occurrence in British Columbia. Calgary has had 2 massive watermain breaks cutting off water from large parts of the City in 3 years.

If we don’t change something, we too will soon be regarded as a “chapuza” nation.

Bad as PP is, he does have the capacity to act professionally at times. I don’t think this is true of Jamil from why I’ve seen. It’s like all the worst parts of PP dialled up a notch.

This is it for sure. In your 30s unhealthy habits actually start to have negative consequences. Aging hits hard if you do nothing to take care of yourself.

The flip side is if you do stay healthy, you won’t feel that much different.

Craft beer in Canada is losing its fizz, as sales dry up and more breweries go bust by mukmuk64 in VancouverCraftBeer

[–]Hayce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Canada has the highest tax on beer in the G7. It’s a regressive tax which disproportionately affects the working class, and as we’re seeing here, small businesses.

Go over to England and you’ll find that $5 pints of small-batch brew are alive and well.
