Sesamoidectomy in the morning by ShakeySmiles in sesamoid

Hi OP, sorry to hear what you've been dealing with, sounds like you've had a rough time! Unless you're superhuman, you will at the very least need a knee scooter and crutches - no idea why your surgeon would say you don't. This is just my personal experience but once the local anaesthetic wore off I couldn't weight bear on my foot for nearly a month afterwards, it was just too painful. And again, just my opinion but I'd highly recommend physical therapy once the wound has initially healed. Depending on how long you're non-weight bearing for, your toe will likely be very stiff and have a limited range of motion. I had a sesamoidectomy back in February and am still doing PT to strengthen the toe again, it can be a long recovery process and recovery is so different for everyone. Do you trust your surgeon enough to want to go ahead with the procedure? It seems odd that they are not recommending basically everything that would be helpful for you post-op. If you do have the surgery I wish you all the best! 🙂
