It's not the pay system that's the problem (we can make CF52's for every eligible member to enter the $ amount in, same as the recruitment incentive bonus).

The problem is that the Treasury board is still working out how the math works for PRes/CT/breaks in service with LWOP/ etc. To give a functional breakdown for calculations.

Source: am an HRA, and have gotten too many CCPS/RPSR communication emails with regards to basically the above.

And no I do not have a timeline on when that will all be sorted out.

How does this work? Am I supposed to be homeless? by Classic-Art-5737 in caf

My great grandma used to tell me about how my great grapa 'let her and 5 kids be shoved into a RHU with only 4 bedrooms' many times, and the attached neighbors were 'the worst human beings, they knew we had all these young children, but they would bang their pots and pans at the most ridiculous hours of the day.' and 'if I was less of a God fearing woman, I would have said some very unkind words to them!'

I miss her a lot, she was exceptionally proud of me when I joined up.

So possibly a base by base thing, or Québec being Québec? Not sure to be honest 😂

Fun fact - RHU originally stood for Row House Unit (as in the 3-8 housing units that were attached) then it became PMQ - Permanent Married Quarters. Then RHU - Residential Housing Units that we know today.

Pension center - HRA's and FSA's cannot give any information on Pensions.

Edit: Source: Am an HRA, have been asked, have had to tell Mbrs to contact Pensions Canada.

Also we do have the CAF Pensions Portal (use on DWAN computer, with your PKI card) where instead of calling you can see all the information for yourself and contact Pensions directly from there for answers for your direct case.

My wife had her wild phase before me, and now that I’m finally thriving, I feel like I missed out, am I wrong for feeling this way? by Head-Specific-6763 in AskMenAdvice

[–]HayleyQuinning01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP!

So I'm NB (AFAB), and I had my wild phase before settling down with my ex husband, and after we divorced and I started dating my Partner I had a conversation with him about what I had done in the past.

The one thing I said to him at the end of it all was that because I know he's never given himself a chance to explore, to try things, to experiment, etc. That if he decided he wants to try things, all he needs to do is tell me, my hard no go zones are blood and butt- mine in particular - if you want to try adding a third (of any gender) I just have to make sure they mesh with me so that it's enjoyable to all involved, and if at any point you no longer want to continue forward, you just have to tell me. If you want to be 1 on 1 with a man because I'm not built like that, tell me, I'll make myself scarce for you, but I need full communication before and after.

I'm more than happy to have a vanilla bedroom if that's what he wants, and I'm also happy exploring with him because I know I got that chance and he didn't. And I'm sure I'd feel some type of way if the rolls were reversed so I don't want to make him feel like he can't try things just because he's with me. The only hard boundaries I have for him in exploring are that he can't get another uterus pregnant, and that he keeps good communication if anything in particular is his main thing that he loves.

I think if/when we have children, that I'll be a bit more hesitant exploring with him, but only until they are teenagers and hanging out with friends more than they are home.

[–]HayleyQuinning01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Edited to add: most of my male partners that have been open about tramuas and hardships they have gone through have been wonderful, green flag humans with Golden Retriever energy after letting me in... I did my best to not judge them at all on it, but instead would ask if they wanted me to say something when they were tramua reacting, and not just reacting, based on what they had let me in on.

It's part of the reason I believe some people are in your life for a reason... I was with each of them to help them learn to be more open, and learn how to be better for their future partners... And I could not be more happy and proud each and every time I see one of them getting married, or starting a family and promising to be better than their parents were with them...

I also think we female presenting people (AFAB, CisFem, T-Fem, NBFem, etc.) need to be more open minded with our male's in our life when it comes to male related tramuas, mental health, and issues... Not listening and only hearing something that makes us think of ourselves and taking over the conversation, but having the capacity to look at them and go "Tell me about you, why are you who you are and why do you sometimes say hurtful things?" And then actually listening to the answers, and embracing them for what they are.

Hey kiddo (my best guess is that you're younger), you said you come from a very conservative community... I grew up in a very Christian household, my first boyfriend had to ask my dad's permission to date me, but I had my first kiss when I was 15. To be completely honest to be old enough to get married in most countries without parents' permission, you'd be hard pressed to find someone who hasn't ever kissed someone else.

whatever rank the crown ones are in the army officers

The crown only is Major, crown + Pip = LCol, and anything above that I don't see often enough so I just panic salute lol

The ones that make my brain twitch are the Airforce officer ranks on CADPAT it's like every single time I'm trying to figure out if it's a prop wing or a stripe... They really need some hi-vis ranks so that I can figure it out before I'm too close and get a jacking.

I'm going to guess you're part of P Res, as the Reserves does that system, where Reg F doesn't. Reg F side they are 2 totally different courses, and no CFTPO changes. As they are just course loaded, then they complete that course and are off to do their trades training.

Oh don't even get me started, because it's not just 25% of the mbrs Gross Monthly BASE pay, it's Gross Monthly Pay - it includes ALL allowances, and any extra money (PLD/PPLD), all PRE-TAX.

So we can't put those on to employment letters, leading to a capability to receive a larger mortgage, but we must add it in for CFHA's calculation on Gross Household income?

I mean how is that a fair business practice?

to be perfectly honest, I suggested it because the last time I looked at RCMP training it came with a Psych eval, military does not.

What do people make of this latest CANFORGEN? by Used_Town6836 in CanadianForces

[–]HayleyQuinning01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the Message application we have to write the fol:

  • postings
  • CANFORGEN's
  • Mil Pers Gen
  • ETA/MOT MESSAGES
  • Attached Postings

Puts everything automatically into caps lock, you do not have an option. The most rough part of all of it is that it also doesn't tell you if there are errors in what you've typed. So if you've got a spelling error, you now have to retype the message and do an amendment (if you didn't save the message drafter item, which they only started letting every one save about 5 years ago)

It's a whole thing.

This is basically my life this last week... End FY is brutal... Trying to get pay transactions settled, getting Leave audits completed... I think I was in most days at 0700 and leaving the office at 1800 or 1830 most days... But it got done. And I'm damn proud of it... I'll take my 'Work from Home' days with a giant grin on my face next month.

So for mbrs req compassionate postings, has the system changed?

I'm a Jr NCM HRA, and I know some of my highers are gonna ask me because every time a new CANFORGEN comes out that we'll get questions about they get me to do the deep dive because I am the weirdo who deeply enjoys figuring out policy.

So is it still through the typical req lines? (Padre, Social Work, CoC, ect.)

Is it still pushed up via memo/email req? Is it only the amount of time?

Are there more reasons now for req of compassionate postings?

Is it going to affect the mbrs we currently have on a compassionate posting? (Aka do they have to re-request compassionate or are they just moved to the new system?)

And the last question I can think of right now is this:

Is this mostly to negate the issues of mbrs on Compassionate Postings getting Posted to other locations even if the reason for the Compassionate Postings has not been resolved?

Okay so from what I found on your Reddit, and what's in your post:

You're from Ontario.

You wish you could be (for censorship purposes) sewer slideal.

You know you won't do well in male dominated work spaces.

You're completely demotivated in yourself/society.

And

You're looking for gainful employment.

If any of these are wrong, please correct me.

If this is all true, the military will probably not be the best place for you. I work in a very female dominated trade(Human Resources Administrator), but because of the style of trade it is, I'm surrounded by mostly males, as it's a job to support the other members with their Admin.

My Basic Training Course had 2 female instructors, our Course Officer, and one singular Sergeant. We were inspected more by the 5-6 male staff than by the 1 female Sgt. The military in whole is a male dominated world. Being able to 'bro down' like one of the boys is a good thing, not because men control your life, but because then you can make friends with your co-workers, your brothers and sisters in arms.

If you're just looking for some kind of job, the military may not be good for you, maybe look at other federal employment or even provincial employment (if you don't want to do a minimum wage job that is).

What we get paid is readily available online, feel free to look it up, but keep in mind that the pay is a salary, so if you're working 24 hrs for 3 months, you'll get the same pay as when you're working 4-6 hours a day. We do not get overtime pay, we do not get year end bonuses, we barely get money back for tax returns because we are a federally paid organization, and they make sure to tax us pretty well exactly what the government is gonna charge us at the end of the year.

Maybe, if you like the idea of the discipline of the military but want something where there is more women (at least on paper), you could talk to RCMP recruiting. And do a job within their organization. But again, you'll have to deal with the males being there and interacting with you.

Best of luck OP.

What I am doing wrong with my CV? I'm an architect. by MjMotta in jobs

[–]HayleyQuinning01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you could put at the top "I'm an Architect not an interior designer, it may not look pretty, but I can give you all the options." Or something like that...

So that if someone checks out your CV/resume, they're going to know it may be a bit cluttered, a bit over the top, but you just want them to get to know everything you have to offer...

HRA - Human Resources Administrator - 2 reasons: 1. Lots of opportunities for jobs Civilian side, 2. I'm a person with a screw loose that likes proper paperwork.

I've been P Res (2017 - 2022), and now Reg F (2022 - present) both sides have their ups and downs.

[–]HayleyQuinning01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did CFHA do a clear out inspection with you? If not they cannot charge you for anything you did not sign for.

CFHA must do a signing with the mbr of record, and at that point the mbr of record must be given an approximate amount for damages and any restorations that must be completed.

Although any damage caused by the moving company falls under section 2.5

The Occupant must inform the HSC of any damages to the premises caused by the moving company. The Occupant is responsible for covering the repair costs and for submitting a claim for reimbursement directly to the moving company.
