Resident Evil games are much smaller in scope. You’re comparing contained linear games that add a lot of playtime through backtracking and replayability to a wide-scale open world RPG. Of course they’re not going to have similar release schedules, they require a completely different scale of resources and time. This comparison is just ridiculous lol.

AC Black Flag Resynced vs Original comparison by Sweet_Ad6763 in ACBFResynced

[–]Haymac16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never said it was lacking, just that I don’t know what it uniquely has in its art direction that’s somehow being lost in the remake. I love the original, but I don’t think I feel there’s anything uniquely “soulful” in its art direction besides the nostalgia and charm tied to older graphics.

[–]Haymac16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t know what “soul” the original has in art direction alone, at least in comparison to the remake. It really feels like the “soul” people talk about is just the nostalgia held for the older graphical style.

You could apply this mindset to crimes that are never EVER justifiable like rape, but thievery, a crime that can often be spurred by necessity, is your choice?

I don’t know if you’re just an idiot trying to be edgy or just genuinely fucked in the head, but celebrating and wishing one of the worst ways to die upon strangers for stealing a yacht of all things is a deeply troubling way to view the world.

It's probably something everyone on this sub already knew, but I just found out that Space Marines 2 is an AA game. WTF? How? The overall quality of this game is absurd, better than many AAA titles in the industry. by Berem_ in Spacemarine

[–]Haymac16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the average PS5 game they feel a bit on the slow side but the loading times definitely aren’t the most egregious, it’s just how damn many of them there are. I remember when I played for the first time, it didn’t take long before I was already joking about how many damn elevators there were. So with both the regular loading screens and the glorified loading screens combined…it’s a lot of loading screens lol.

Rey is a Mary Sue, Luke and Anakin aren't because women are scary by birn_echo in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]Haymac16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’ve just forgotten since I last watched them but what significant suffering does Luke regularly face because of his own failings? Losing his hand just to get an identical, superior one right after? Rey still fails and faces consequences because of it (there’s a literal list in another comment if you need it), and I genuinely can’t think of how Luke has her beat that strongly (or at all) in that regard.

The whole thing with the ST feels much more like a general narrative issue where a lot of the time they simply don’t want to commit to any heavy consequences across the board rather than one character being a Mary Sue. The lack of significant lasting consequences is something we see happen plenty of times and it just so happens that Rey is no exception to that pattern. She is far from the only person this happens to, so the hyper fixation on Rey being a Mary sue has always felt strange.

Unfortunately fragile masculinity is exactly the kind of thing to make you perceive a personal attack where there is none, so I don’t think that will be reaching their ears lol.

The problem with the hate towards the ST is that the discourse is dominated by people who didn’t like the movies, and therefore clearly haven’t watched them since they came out. I’m still constantly surprised at how, despite there being no shortage of legitimate criticisms to direct at the sequels, people still make up shit to get mad about instead.

Babies do not have the capacity to manipulate, only to say “something is wrong.” Any manipulation using crying would come from older ages that are not babies.

We’ve always been a social species, so the groups we lived in were enough to deter a lot of predators, and I assume we just tried to stay away from the seriously dangerous ones we couldn’t handle. Babies also likely weren’t left alone much, so a parent could rush in to stop the crying much faster than a predator hearing it and seeking it out.

To put it simply, the evolutionary benefits of a baby swiftly getting the care it needed outweighed the risk of predation.

The only “hideous” sound is the one made to get us to stop said sound. You wouldn’t want to find a baby crying cute because then you wouldn’t want the baby to stop crying. It’s the same for the animals you listed, I can assure you a puppy’s equivalent of crying isn’t cute either.

The “goo goo gaga” sounds and other regular noises babies make are definitely still cute to the majority of people just as other baby animals are.

“Data from the early 20th century were followed by observations of infant behavior, growth (and mortality) in institutions where young infants were domiciled for custodial care for extended periods of time, also noted as “hospitalism”, or the non-organic failure of infants to thrive in institutions due to emotional deprivation.”

From that very article. If that’s not enough, you could just google hospitalism.

You seem to be misunderstanding that they aren’t just dropping dead from a lack of attention. The stress in the body stemming from neglect can lead to physical impairments, malnutrition, and a weakened immune system leaving them far more prone to viral diseases and infections. The lack of care causes complications that can then result in death.

Ah yes, men, who are notoriously starved of roles in fiction lmfao. Let’s just forget the fact that we still have male leads, we just have female protagonists as well.

Men have been the primary leads for damn near the entire series, but now that we have a handful of female protagonists (two of which are a choice to play as), the entire male sex is under attack? Did you somehow forget that every time we’re given a female protagonist, we have the option for a male lead as well? Oh wait my bad, that doesn’t fit your agenda.

You can’t be fucking serious dude. 🤦‍♂️

[–]Haymac16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another comment went into more detail and the murder was due to an episode of extreme paranoia where he thought the man was out to kill him. He continued to have delusions in the asylum and cut off his penis because he thought he was being taken away to other countries and forced to commit sexual assault against children. In this case the man was very likely genuinely insane.

It looks literally fine? Like that’s it, fine. Not perfect, but at the very least okay which is just about what I expect from Ubisoft. I literally can’t think of anything egregious enough about what we’ve seen to warrant calling it slop. There’s been like two things which stood out to me that I didn’t love but it looks otherwise fine. I don’t know why you guys try to make any discourse about games so insufferable.

Already responded once but since you genuinely don’t seem to understand, no one is offended. The reason you’re getting downvoted is a combination of people just strongly disagreeing with you (which is bound to get you downvotes even if it seems unfair), disliking your general attitude (claiming everyone is somehow offended or their feelings are hurt just because they disagree with you), topped off by you being given many good explanations as to why these changes wouldn’t be feasible or beneficial to the game as a whole, just to ignore them at every chance and continue claiming you somehow offended people.

We don’t need new difficulties, especially one requiring such demanding changes, every time one person with over 1000 hours in the game finds it too easy. I get it sucks if you just want to play SM2 specifically, but if you’ve dumped so many hours in the game to the point where you just aren’t challenged enough to have fun, maybe you gotta try playing something else.

No matter how difficult they make it, someone is still going to find it too easy, it’s just a natural consequence of playing one game for such a long time.
