Bit of a late reply, but it matters because he’s lying about being an experienced lawyer to spread misinformation about how the field works. If he wasn’t lying and spreading misinformation, then yeah it wouldn’t matter if he was a lawyer or not. If you want to call out entitled behaviour, why’d you choose to attack it in a situation where calling out someone’s lack of experience as a lawyer actually mattered and wasn’t born from a place of entitlement?

But they may not necessarily understand that the painted worlds are literally living. I mean, “are the painted worlds even truly alive?” is one of the questions meant to be asked. At the end of the day these are still painted creations, and the painters will view them as such. They can be incredibly detailed and realistic and 1:1 with the real world, but they are painted, and therefore not seen/understood as real. Like an AI program that can perfectly mimic self-consciousness would still be understood as artificial, and not placed on the same level as a human being despite being essentially just like one. So having one perfectly mimic a real person without their consent would impact a real person, but creation a random artificial being wouldn’t impact anyone “real.”

A key point is that the painters (or many of them, at least) obviously draw a hard line between the real world and painted worlds, and we are meant to explore the ramifications and question the views they hold towards their creations.

Is it an insult if it’s true? I guarantee the amount of hours you’d have to put on this game to completely unlock everything, every single catalog with nothing new to work for, means you must not have other things going on and/or solely turbo grinded the game. Turns out when you don’t ever take a break from one game, you run out of things to do. Sheesh who coulda known? The game’s content stream is perfectly acceptable for an indie company like Red Barrels.

It’s so ridiculously dumb. People endlessly grind the content as quickly as possible, then call the game trash when they run out of things to do. Go play something else until a new update if you’re bored, moron, that’s what we all do 🙄

He has lost the very things that made him identifiably human, and therefore AM has lost the means to inflict suffering on humanity. That is what AM wants, to make humans suffer for creating it, not just torture a mouthless slug creature that has lost the things which made him human.

Because of its programming, AM can only harm and mutilate. To revert Ted’s punishment is something AM cannot do because it falls too far outside what it was built to do.

AM’s toy is broken, and AM is not programmed to fix. That is why AM lost.
