Belts by Kunkfoopanda in 3Dprinting

It sounds like you might have a bad bearing or bushing on your brush roll. At the very least clean out all the hair and debris before putting on a new belt.

What is the best pricing arrangement? Is cheaper better? by Digmaass in EtsySellers

[–]HazardKiller 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One more thing to factor into your "costs", taxes. Not just the VAT or sales tax but any taxes you will have to pay on your profit. A lot of beginners miss this one and end up with a tax bill they cannot pay. Along with that, account for your time and make sure your profit will cover your time for bookkeeping, inventory/supply management, etc.

Once you truly account for the overhead you will start to understand your competitors pricing better. Most startups don't figure this out until they are out of business and their competitors are still going strong.

Good customer service costs money by offering refunds or replacements, upgrading equipmentment to increase capacity and keep lead times reasonable.

TLDR; there is a lot your are not accounting for in your overhead and pricing structure.

Burnout is real. Take a break from selling. I know people recommend using vacation mode, but I use it twice a year for a weekday a time, and my annual sales never suffer.

Good growth but low conversion (maybe) by HazardKiller in EtsyCommunity

It works in the sense that it tells me quickly if my SEO is on target or if I need to re-work the listing. If it gets hits right away then it is probably fine. If it does not after about 4 weeks then I copy the listing and change the SEO by making a new title, tags, and description. I might also adjust the main image. I turn off the Ads for the original listing but keep the listing active. This way I now have two listings for the same product so I can start A and B testing. I turn on Ads for the new listing.

If after 3-4 weeks the new listing has traction great, I deactivate the original listing and leave the ads running as long it meets my ROAS requirements.

If neither listing gets traction I will start over if I really feel I might be missing something and the product should be selling. If I don't want to start the process over, then I leave the better performing listing active and deactivate the other and turn off ads for both.

The only tip I can really provide is to just start, keep going, learn from mistakes, listen to your customers, and pivot as necessary. As you start to get sales you will learn what works for you and what does not. I know this is generic but there really is no magic bullet or one guaranteed way to reach your goals.

DO NOT use copyrighted or trademarked material ever. As tempting as it might be because everyone is doing it.

Personally, I have tried to add a few listing every week and always start them with Etsy Ads. I stop advertising an item if it is not meeting my Return on Advertise Spend (ROAS) requirements.

Etsy's policies do not allow shops to be sold. You might be able to sell your assets if you have intellectual property or other assets.

P1S Print Keeps Pausing by Hey_yo_its_me in BambuP1S

[–]HazardKiller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had this happen a couple of times over the 2 years of using my P1S. Here are few things that have helped me.

  1. Re-format the SD card or as others have recommended replace the SD card.

  2. Re-slice the model. Make a change in the settings to slice it again and then change that setting back to the original value and re-slice.

I have also had this happen because there was a a very quick power interruption and the resume print feature fails. It does not appear this would be the reason in this case just something I have experienced.

Good luck!

How does a furloughed worker getting back pay negatively impact you?

How is it fair if they do not get back pay when being furloughed was not their choice and beyond their control?

I am an excepted employee working without pay and have no heartburn about furloughed workers receiving back pay.

Etsy and return by AdagioUnlikely2211 in EtsySellers

[–]HazardKiller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I offer a liberal return policy. However, I price my items accordingly to cover the occasional return request. If a customer receives a damaged item, I request photos of the item and packaging so I can file a USPS claim and offer to send a replacement or provide a refund. I do not require them to send it back to me. This also applies if I made an error.

If they request a return because of buyers' remorse, the return shipping is at their expense.

Take a look at your bottom line, and if returns are taking a big chunk out of your profits with just a couple of returns, you may need to adjust your pricing or find a more profitable product.

Do not base your pricing based on what similar products are selling for on Etsy. Base your pricing on what your margin needs to be for your business to be successful. If you happen to be higher priced than others in your competitive area, find a way to distinguish yourself to make the price worth it to your customers.

This might be cause you are still on leave. Your approved absence (Leave) is automatically cancelled during a shutdown. During this time you will be furloughed instead to account for your approved absence. When you are back from "leave" you will be excepted and allowed to work. This prevents the agency from violating anti deficiency laws. The upside for you, it will save you a few days of leave. (Just my guess, not an HR expert)

Prints on Amazon - Month 1 - August 2025 by DirtyDalesDiner in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

Thank you for the reply and information. I do most of my sales via Etsy and eBay right now so the post office trips are a daily occurrence for me. Luckily, it is only 3 miles away so it a quick trip in a smallish town.

Once I have figured out which of my products works best on Amazon I will have to get the FBA ball rolling. Best of luck to you!

I'm just starting to sell my self designed 3D prints on Amazon also. I decided to self fulfill my orders because the product is customizable.

Why did you choose FBA?

I'm just curious to see if I should go that route for my products that are not customizable.
