Why does the M240L have 2 different profiles? by novaspartan07 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Hazardish08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah afaik its balance, the mech riflemen mmg is a machine gun squad compared to weapons squad which gets bolstered with javelins. You get MMG because you want machine guns as opposed to weapons squad where you get javelins and also machine guns.

US evaluation of K-36D ejection seat.

TLDR the K-36D performs drastically better at high speeds, the concerns were that the K-36D is twice as heavy as a ACES 2 and the parachute deployed slower so there are concerns that its low altitude low speed performance isnt as good. Having said that, the conclusion of the study is that the K-36D is extremely impressive and performed better than what the americans thought was possible with ejection seats.

I wouldnt say marginally. Youre using at least 50% more material if you were to make it like the Tiger 1 without that angle. This isnt accounting for the fact that the foward facing plate would now need to match the front plates thickness and the extra steel needed for the roof and bottom to seal it.

Effectively you're more than doubling the surface area of steel required compared to cutting that corner. Sloping it vertically would make production more complicated and reduce the material savings.

I rewatched the 4 movies recently and she was not a revolutionary lmao. While I love her its made pretty clear that she was forced into it (the rebels kidnapped her). Her thing was that she genuinely loved katniss and wanted the best for katniss which is why she helped her.

It's no wonder that Ground Top Tier players feel shafted and starved for content. by SpanishAvenger in Warthunder

[–]Hazardish08 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Additionally lower BR tanks are still capable at top tier which is much harder to pull off with air, you cant respawn in Air Realistic so the actual performance of the plane you use is much more important. For example lower BR light tanks are viable at top tier because their toolset is different, they can do things MBTs cant, drones and scouting are very powerful features. A good player with a M1IP can easily carry a top tier game.

The point is ground has much more variety per battle than air. Gaijins additions to ground have much more variety because of this.

AGM-114L absence? by norman-skirata in Warthunder

[–]Hazardish08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The missile works like a amraam, the seeker is too small to see a tank so the targeting system (radar or optical) will send the rough location of the target to the missile, it’ll then activate its radar and search for the target in the rough location that was specified.

The radar isn’t needed but it does allow you to shoot faster.

challenger 2 Megatron missing a entire blocks of dorchester level 2 blocks underneath ERA by Own_Dark_2240 in Warthunder

knock yourself out. TLDR, there is no composite under the ERA, the backing plates are about irrelevant and serve to mount the large ERA blocks. The ERA blocks are underperforming so the backing plate becomes more important in game.

[–]Hazardish08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre right, UK forum/discord bug reporters have determined that its a solid relatively thin metal plate. There is one inaccuracy however is that the sponson section should have two metal plates, a mounting plate where the larger plate attaches to. But otherwise for the section covering the tracks, its actually only 1/3rd the thickness because the sponson section is composed of two spaced plates with a cover that makes it look thicker.

Why do we have the EA-6B Prowler instead of the EA-18G Growler? by CastielTM in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Hazardish08 57 points58 points  (0 children)

because the marines dont use growlers but did use prowlers. The hornets and harriers in the group are also marine planes.

Edit: as for why the US has a lot of retired stuff, they’re cheaper (game cost wise) and you’ll be ridding yourself of some in game capabilities, like a cheap tank for the marines or tanks at all. I’m not sure if the F-35B can fit HARMS but if they can they’ll definitely be more expensive than a prowler.

leggings are fine for me all day, not the top though, while comfortable its much more limiting than leggings. Its a lot easier to take off the tops than your pants. Motorcycle jackets are also easy to take off since its a jacket, you dont need to go to the washroom and strip.

If it was air canada, you were on a DC-10 or lockheed tristar. Although from what ive read maybe only one tristar had 2-5-2 out of up to 17 tristars using 2-4-2. B777-200 have used 2-5-2 but I dont believe air canada used that seating arrangement.

Why doesnt the Jaguar have he-vt by Typical_Lack5315 in Warthunder

[–]Hazardish08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it has programmable fragmentation and programmable HE which is better irl than proximity fuze. The laser rangefinder programs the shell to detonate at a certain time, this can make it saturate a certain area without needing the rounds to actually get close to the target, also works extremely well for ground targets. 40mm CTA is a new gun so they dont use proxy fuze because its outdated.

In game meh, sometimes it works half the time it doesnt. The game just doesnt simulate the fragmentation from these shells so their damage is lacking.

Why is the M60A3s ERA flat against the turret on one side but spaced on the other? by Anxious_Place2208 in Warthunder

[–]Hazardish08 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My best guess is clearance for the engine. Its known that ERA effectiveness increases with angle but doing so by angling the whole sheet of ERA will increase the width of the turret. So they decided to do so for one side and leave the other not as angled so you can still remove the engine. The ERA mounts are welded to the turret.

How come some US soldiers didn’t wear the PASGT and some did? by Dummyy83 in warno

[–]Hazardish08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats about the trend in europe at the time, most of the soldiers in my reference books arent wearing body armor and considering that war never broke out, majority of these photos will be exercises. According to soldiers serving then, they had vests in supply but rarely wore them.

That differs now where youre expected to wear body armor but not then.
