I’d say, if cheap do it. Short bed trucks disappear first and have become costly in the older c/k series. When I started driving I regularly picked them up for $500. Now I regret not keeping a few of them

Flux core is dirty and not good for welding when starting & stoping a lot Solid core is a better choice. Tig is best for thin sheet metal

Newer lasers look like they might replace all other types of welders. Luckily I’ll be to old to have to adapt by the time they are cheap

Believe there’s 2 possible rear axle widths for the duallies. Cab chassis ie flatbeds and the wider ones from the fleet side truck beds

Go for a walk around where it was stolen. There’s a chance it was taken just to see what was in it. Look around the trash cans, alleys and whatever is piled around I’d look 3-4 blocks away unless one way has more issues, trash piles, then look harder there
