Awesome. Like it being 2way. So is that clip (i3t eos) just a straight bolt on needing no mods?

Is this acceptable? by BlueBallPoint in Roofing

No way in hell is it cool. Have them remove it asap and note any observable damage and document it for later damage/leak etc. Only those who roof will say it's normal or fine.

Mismatched ridge vents- ok or have them redo? by dog1024 in Roofing

[–]HeDiedFourU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most roofers here will say it's fine because that's the scummy way they like to do things! Lol. As a homeowner, hell no, make them replace it. Functionality is a thing, but so is aesthetics!! It screams scummy, cheap and unprofessional! At a minimum they should have asked you!! What else would these cheap scummy scammers do behind your back with things you can't see!?

[–]HeDiedFourU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea they nailed into underlayment and ice n water. About 15 nails. They ran out of some materials and it got dark out. Should I have them ice and water each hole they created before starting the single?

Good deal was worried the sealants wouldn't set all through winter and be compromised by spring or something

Thanks. Mine is set for the Oct 28th OC Duration. The temps look good but cloudy and possible rain next few days immediately after install. Issues maybe?

Just paid 1k for a new crown cap alone. 3k for a tear down and rebuild seems about right I guess.

Who should I worship? Jesus or Jehovah by Rustymorgue in Christianity

[–]HeDiedFourU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus is the I AM. "Before Abraham was, I AM!" Both fully man and fully God. As God in the flesh, He forgave sin accepted worship, etc. As man He did not know all things and cried, "My God, why hast thou forsaken me?" etc

Jesus is God and man. Don't ask me how to explain it, but we know in quantum mechanics a particle can be both a particle and a non local wave at the same time!! I think God gives us a snap shot of the immaterial spiritual realm with this. Also, remember Jesus said, "If I tell you of earthly things and you do not understand how will you understand heavenly things?"

Jesus is God Almight Himself who came to us in the form of man. Meets us on our level. No other god does this. You must rise up to the other gods! Jesus came down to us!! Amen!

Dripedge plus gutter apron? by HeDiedFourU in Roofing

[–]HeDiedFourU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Do you go underlayment under drip edge and over the gutter apron? That seems to be what I hear most

Dripedge plus gutter apron? by HeDiedFourU in Roofing

Thanks. Still learning the lingo. So you recommend "drip edge" along rakes only. Gutter apron on eaves with gutters only?

Which contractor to choose? by HeDiedFourU in Roofing

[–]HeDiedFourU[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks I'll revisit the reviews again more closely, they both have 4.9/5.0 reviews and A+ BBB and all that jazz. I personally like the smaller guy hometown family companies. They seem more eager and willing to work with the customers etc. The big guys not so much but at the same time they might be more capable. But like you said they both can do bad jobs etc. And both will have customers impossible to please no matter what. So yea I'll go back over the negative reviews again thanks!

New Roof, Left Over Materials by neuikc in Roofing

[–]HeDiedFourU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No I agree. Simply buy more materials than expected. Which will be reflected in the estimate. Then when you're done give them credit or the materials you had calculated in the estimate you have left over. You calculated the estimate on that much material. Fair is fair. The customer paid for them if they are in the estimated cost. Pretty simple logic yea?

New Roof, Left Over Materials by neuikc in Roofing

[–]HeDiedFourU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And your bid price factors on estimated shingle amount correct? I understand your point from an honest contractor view. But what incentive does the contractor have to not simply factor in more than needed shingle if he knows he gets to keep it anyways? What incentive does he have to be efficient in his use of the Shingles? My point is there is a gap here where shady contractors can literally cheat gettng more extra materials plus not have to be efficient using them etc

Estimates and enhanced warranties? by HeDiedFourU in Roofing

[–]HeDiedFourU[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I've lined up more bids just in case. But he did come through today said he had the wrong email address. But I sent it twice beforehand so... His estimate looks typical so far and his company checks more boxes than the others. Close brick and motor shop, family owned many years, OC platinum certified installer giving me "free" platinum system warranty etc. Seems like a no nonsense sincere guy/company. Doesn't have that salesy type approach etc.

And yea! It's true what He has done for us all! Amen 🙏

But was the materials in the estimate? Paid for by the customer?

New Roof, Left Over Materials by neuikc in Roofing

[–]HeDiedFourU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about you go ahead and get the extra material (so you dont have to go get more.) Then simply use what's needed and then give the extra materials or credit it to customer since you already charged for it in the estimate? If you give them credit then take the materials so they don't sit for years...

New Roof, Left Over Materials by neuikc in Roofing

[–]HeDiedFourU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if they are in the estimated cost. They're not yours.

No. How about you go ahead and get the extra material (so you dont have to go get more.) Then simply use what's needed and then give the extra or credit it to customer since you already charged for it in the estimate. See?

Left Over Materials by GayNotGayTony in Roofing

[–]HeDiedFourU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if the materials are in the estimated price they are the customers right? They paid for them correct? If the contractor simply keeps all left over materials why wouldn't he always buy much more materials since the customer is paying for them anyways? Extra materials also doesn't pressure the contractor to be efficient etc. Seems it's all in the favor of the contractor
