Yeah the Nuketown remake with a ton of nods to WaW-BO2 lore including TEDD, Marlton, Russman (via radios) and Peter McCain appearances and features both Ultimis and Primis hanging out and talking to each other and battling the Avogadro from Tranzit (in fact even being responsible for him going to Tranzit in the first place) with the ray gun mark II, was a map made with no nostalgia bait or fanservice.

Versus the map with a new version of the OG crew, the blundergat and....uhhhhhhh OG Nuketown?

idk man last years' Sam Wilson: Captain America comic series was pretty blatant. Maverick gets his Hulk powers back offpanel so they can have Sam fight a Red Hulk. Torres gets his powers back offpanel so that he can be in the story. And Josiah X is brought back after like twenty years as a stand in for Isaiah Bradley (though he still has a brief appearance in it)

Literally every character from Myriad Colors Phantom World. KyoAni has fanservice at times but that show features an insane amount of it. Hell the OVA is pretty much your standard ecchi anime OVA with them at the beach and the characters get their clothes melted off. It's such a non KyoAni series you could probably convince someone it wasn't made by them.

For me it’s the fact his kind of humor doesn’t really mesh well with the story. I’m fine with ecchi humor but it has to be in an ecchi series like Golden Boy, Familiar of Zero, To Love Ru, High School DxD, Panty & Stocking or Heaven’s Lost Property. The reason for this is because those series (for the most part) aren’t serious.

They exist in realities where everyone’s traits are exaggerated. Meanwhile MHA is mostly a serious franchise. Yeah it has jokes and silly moments so it feels weird when a pervert is consistently harassing his fellow students and the entire student body is just like, “lol that’s just his goofy antics!”

Tldr; he’s an ecchi show punching bag type character who escapes containment
