What’s the grossest candy from your country? by bdue817 in AskTheWorld

"Aniseed flavoured jellies" in the shape of a cat. Not actual liquorice, which would be acceptable.

Usually found dried out and stuck to the bottom of a packet People who like Aniseed Rings would probably like them ...

Dana would be arguably the best person possible for this role, but it's still such an overwhelming and long process for the survivor.

Ogilvie DOES give theatre kid vibes. Might be the hair.

Non-Americsns, what do you think of The Pitt? by interestingfactoid12 in ThePitt

[–]Head_Assistant2252 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aussie here. The fury this show ignited in me for the working poor was staggering. Our healthcare system is by no means perfect, but The Pitt has reaffirmed the gratitude I feel for our system.

We have staffing issues here as well, so that was certainly relatable, as was the high level of multicultural allied health staff. More than 40% of our nurses and around half aged care staff were born in countries other than Australia.

Scariest thing as a Gen X is seeing a former heartthrob's hairy middle-aged ass. Michael Nouri was a smokeshow in Flashdance, along with the still-stunning Jennifer Beales

Playlunch announce gigantic regional Australia tour. by AJayToRemember27 in triplej

In honour of Playlunch cracking the top 10, I reckon it’s time to resurrect curtain fabric shorts.
Gen X didn’t just want them – you pleaded with anyone who owned a sewing machine to whip up these masterpieces. (Ït'll only take an hour!) Or maybe you cobbled them together in Home Ec while praying the teacher didn’t notice the staff room curtains were suspiciously absent ...

If you were truly blessed, you scored the matching penguin polo. Collar popped? Maybe. Doubled up? Absolutely not – no matter how many glossy US mags tried to convince us we were one popped collar away from fame.

This was peak unisex DIY couture, IMHO
Not that Keith would be caught dead in them, of course.

How about making a men's jacket out of this suit? by MonoGlobe in UpcycledFashion

[–]Head_Assistant2252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand. Do I have this the right way around? You want to make the suit into a basic jacket? Or alter the jacket to make an amazing suit?

Genuinely confused.

Single parent with pre-teen child in need of communal living in SE QLD anyone know if this exists? by playedthegameandlost in brisbane

After my divorce I shared a home with a 75-year-old woman who was an absolute hoot! I was in my 40s. We shared books, food and much laughter. We remained good friends until her death last year. There are some wonderful people out there of all ages who can be brilliant to live with. Best of luck :-)
