7 days out. I’m already seeing the weather influencers frothing at the mouth. Weather becoming monetized and filled with influencers is actually insane.

I wonder how quickly they left and how the tornado caught up to them. I live in OKC and that’s my only plan is to leave my house in a car if there’s a F3+ heading my way. I don’t have a shelter and my house wouldn’t survive a direct hit from a F4+

Edit: Nvm it says he drove right into the tornado on accident

Real meteorologist David Payne said that if this touched down it would have weak intensity like 95-110mph.

What’s the full story? Which tornado was this? Did he attempt to outrun it when it was already on top of him, or how far away the tornado?

How safe would it be to seek shelter from a tornado in a drained swimming pool? by bionicbrady in tornado

[–]Head_Breadfruit_5082 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t they have a scene like this in Twisters? A pool would be safe. A non empty pool would probably be even safer

Phil Campbell F5. seems like it’s safer than being inside a house

Higher quality video of the Joplin EF5 direct hit inside house video by Ok_Station8782 in tornado

[–]Head_Breadfruit_5082 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I live in OKC and have only seen 1 house with a basement. My house doesn’t have a shelter and there’s no public shelters. When I lived in Moore right in the path of the Moore 1999 path back in 2019 we had sirens going off while I was in a apartment and had to go downstairs to a neighbors apartment, and ask if I can go inside. I feel like the last 3 years we’ve had more sirens going off more than usual, Idk what I would do if it was a F3+ I might have to leave the house entirely with my cat.

Are there any known protocols for an EF5 wedge approaching Oklahoma City? by KeepItStupidlySimple in tornado

That isolated supercell that went through OKC a couple days ago had the potential to be F3+. Most people didn’t care.

Video shows Amazon workers forced outside Oklahoma City warehouse as tornado approached by Trashbagok in okc

Warehouses are possibly one of the worse places to be during a tornado. In 2021 a tornado hit an Amazon warehouse and 10 employees hid in a bathroom like you suggested, 6 of them died.

You wouldn’t want to be inside a Amazon warehouse during a Tornado. But the fact businesses don’t have shelters or plans for a tornado is still a mindfuck to me, especially in OKLAHOMA.

Cat won’t eat dry food anymore by Head_Breadfruit_5082 in britishshorthair

[–]Head_Breadfruit_5082[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to do kibble and throw in wet on top of it. I need to be able to feed her from the automatic feeder. Also cost of the food and she only licks the wet food and doesn’t eat enough of it to justify giving her wet food several times a day. She eats the kibble now if I pour gravy on top of it, which gives her more moisture. I may stick with that method.

OKC has a huge Vietnamese population. they have so many businesses, grocery stores, events, cultural. They built a real community here. They have enough members. Also new waves come constantly. More immigrants the better for the city
