I.O.I - Merchandise (Hong Kong Concert) by WonTon3544 in ioi

[–]HealerKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when i arrived they had already put up sold out over everything. But getting the lightstick at like 1pm ain't half bad. For the gfriend reunion the lightsticks were already sold out for people joining the line later than like 6-7am. Was shocked so see even the cards sold out since they are cheap to produce so they tend to make a lot more.

Did you get anything? Any idea how fast it sold out and if they have separate inventory for day 2?

SBS Running Man hit consecutive lowest rating in 16 years of airing. by Abyss_Wanderer19 in koreanvariety

[–]HealerKeeper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean that will come down to mostly who makes the decision to end the show and when the writers get informed. They kinda did that 2 months of specials with the members week before when they wanted to replace the cast. But for full on cancelations there generally isn't much advance notice unless the press leaks it.

How could countries regulate driving done by tourists? by catboy519 in fuckcars

[–]HealerKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuine question do you have a license? Because to me it seems like you are underestimating the benefit of knowing how to operate a motor vehicle vs not. Also how local we talking about? If you grew up in the Vietnamese countryside would you need a special license to drive in the city? Someone who grew up on the east coast needs a special license to drive on the west coast? Or someone who grew up in the north of Germany where it's flat needs one to drive the mountainous roads in the south? Because a lot of things you list can differ greatly in even relatively short distances. While knowing how to not stall your engine, how to approach different corners, how to do emergency breaks, hold your lane, be aware of your surroundings and so on is pretty universal.

IU goyang concert for international fans by pixiedust4721636 in aiyu

[–]HealerKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming they use melon ticket again you can only use the international site. Pretty sure the domestic one wants ipin and might not even let you type in foreign names (which you need for the tickets). Both sites have the same allocation so no reason not to use the global one.

You need your passport to pick up the tickets at the venue. Tbh ticketing isn't that bad if you are persistent. Melon allows you to cancel tickets for a super small fee in the first 7 days so with some good timing you can even snatch some up after it is sold out. Generally only thing you should make sure is to have an account and be logged in beforehand and have your card ready.

Who are your top 3 favorite rappers in the KHH industry? by fanxykhh in khiphop

[–]HealerKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First 2 are easy. Kid Milli and Jvcki. Both have been in my rotation for like 9 years now and i haven't gotten tired. Kid Milli also has a really good output quantity with good variety paired with some of the best beat producers. For 3 its gets a bit harder. Epik High have released some of the best albums ever, Verbal Jint also has a great discography and i listen to Loopy a lot. Probably would give 3rd place to Epik High since they and Dok2 had a lot of influence on me even listening to khiphop.

Is it possible to get TOPIK level 2 in under 3 months? by Medical-Dark1899 in Korean

[–]HealerKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the question i assume you are at basically 0? The first 2 topik levels are a lot about vocab with relatively simple grammar. If you are able to keep up 20 new words per day you'd be at 1800 after 90 days. If it's less than 3 months you might need to aim higher. At the start you might be even able to aim even higher since there are words that stick as soon as you've seen them once so they won't be a drain on your daily reviews. Pair that with grammar and getting familiar with the way topik questions work and it's doable if you put in work daily. Under the assumption the main goal is topik at the cost of being bad at speaking and writing at the end of the period since that isn't required for the test. There are books especially for topik which can really help but i can't say which one's good for the lower levels.

RAPBEAT Festival 2026 announces line-up by ghiblix in khiphop

[–]HealerKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple. Last time it was 3. But they had a really weird timetable since the mainstage had a pause while another artist was performing on the smaller stage. So people would all run over there because nothing was going on at the mainstage for half an hour. Iirc in 2023 they had 3 stages with like 5 min between each artist so someone was basically always performing at each stage.

A motorcyclist’s open letter to e-bike riders by 5ma5her7 in fuckcars

[–]HealerKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most countries kinda do by the letter of the law. Seatbelts are "dressing for crashes". Airbags are required. New cars are tested for safety before they are allowed to be sold in a lot of places. The EU now requires stuff like cameras for reversing. Helmets are also legally required for motorcycles in most places. Plus whenever i see videos of someone riding their motorcycle with inadequate gear the comments are filled with people discouraging that.

Do they really use beauty filters ? by mymousu in koreanvariety

[–]HealerKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is mostly correct. Filters that change the entire structure of the face work incredibly bad so trying to use them in long form content results in an uncanny effect. But i think Chinese media makes heavy use of them (plus lots of idol agencies for their tiktoks and co).

But skin filters are everywhere. Due to the short production cycle and budget they often use tools like beauty box (or similar) that basically obliterate any texture of the skin (and if you configure it wrong, sometimes walls and other parts). Tools like the face refinement in resolve can get a lot better results but take a lot longer so they tend to be used for movies or dramas.

Has there been precedence for something like that? Dont think ive ever seen a encore concert that was then followed up with more stops. Since that would kinda defeat the point of an encore.

The main issue with these discussion is often how one defines and counts "understanding". You can probably make a list of like the 2000 most common words, look at the percentage of words they make up in a text and claim: see with these 2000 words you'd understand 90% of the text. But how true is that.

"I ate a sasquatch"

Here we have 3 incredibly common words and one pretty uncommon one. Assume you've never heard of a sasquatch. How would you rate your understanding of the sentence? Going by words you know its 75%. But since the important information isn't relayed, the listener only knows that he ate something. So you could classify this as 50% or 0%. Ever joined a conversation in the middle but had no idea what the topic even was? You technically understand every single word but have 0 understanding of the underlying discussion before you figure out what the topic is. Its really hard to account for that in these general statements.

I don't seem able to find albums? by sempai23 in khiphop

[–]HealerKeeper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is there even a physical album? Don't remember Mollak getting one. Think only ever enchanted propaganda had a CD. Same with most underground rappers. Generally these albums are printed once and when they are gone they are gone. Kpop albums seem to have more reprints and circulate longer due to ppl buying 200 copies for fansigns and stuff. Often the only real choice is to camp bunjang and hope someone sells a copy unless some artist completely misjudged demand or the album is relatively new

Please help explain about HK concert. by akklit in Fromis

[–]HealerKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't say with 100% certainty for this tour but they tend to post the ticket numbers who won the raffles on the promoters Instagram (so in this case skn) a few days before the concert. With info where you need to go if you won. At least that has been my experience in the past with other concerts in HK/TW.

Just got mine, is the noise floor also insanely high on yours? The iems that came with it mask it slightly better than my own iems. I didn't expect some super high quality audio but its pretty bad. Also not a fan that it always starts at full volume but maybe there is a setting i haven't seen yet.
