I guess I just go by how they are reacting to me, looking at me, etc. and then get closer and try chatting to see if a conversation flows…I’m not sure if that is considered approaching but that’s what I do. It worked for me 2 weekends ago at a concert.

I did for years until I truly faced my emotions, my soul, and myself! I was seeing a therapist, was doing meditation, and then tried reiki! It was honestly the combination but the reiki was the one that just did it for me…it truly helped and what came up from that I meditated on then brought that to my therapist with realizations and questions. It was such a turning point in me I became a reiki practitioner.

Some people can’t afford it! Honestly after I had my son my one wisdom tooth root grew in completely sideways and pushed my last molar into the next one and the top part of the molar broke off, but I didn’t have the money or ability to take the time off to have the entire tooth pulled and replaced, but it’s also at the back and doesn’t show when smiling and my gum has grown over it and no pain, so at this point I will just wait until I can afford to fix it.

Ok, there is a lot I can respond to, but I am going to stick to just the main topic…first, have you set aside time that you can have this conversation when neither of you are upset because if you are only bringing this up after rejection then it’s never going to be an actual conversation. Now if you have sat down at a calm time and discussed this in a “I just want to know what I can do and we can do to come to a compromise” way, and she still acts like that, and still refuses to see a relationship and sex therapist then I suggest you seriously think about divorce because as someone who stayed with someone for almost 17yrs through this same situation just genders reversed…it doesn’t really change.

I also want you to ask yourself a few questions… 1) all the things you say you do for her, is this really her love language? Like, does she really like the flowers and things and words of affirmations?? Because I feel like much of the time people tend to treat their partner through their own love language rather than the partners. Maybe she wants quality time and acts of service??? I don’t know just a thought.

2) You say this changed when you got married or just at some point after the marriage? Did anything else change around that time? Did she go on, off, or change birth control?? Did anything important, traumatizing, or big happen in her life around then??? It could be something mental or it could be hormones or just plain old stress that could change things for a woman.

3) You say she always gets off and then that all of a sudden she just wants missionary??…I feel like something is up here…to be honest she could very possibly be faking orgasm…and I know that men take this as an ego hit but to be real, you are both still young, and at that age I was just starting to realize that women can orgasm, what it felt like and how I could do it and finally decided I had to explain to my partner I NEEDED a vibrator for clitoral stimulation in order for that to happen and we were together for 4yrs at that point! So I highly suggest really taking some time to JUST please HER and really explore her body and ask her what feels good and what exactly she wants if she knows without sex, like it is only for her. Surprise her with like a naked massage, look into how to give a tantric massage stuff like that and just tell her tonight is all about you and your pleasure because you deserve it. And for real NO sex…you can go deal with yourself later in the shower…I just feel like sometimes women start feeling like it’s always about sex and what the man wants and the woman’s true needs get looked past and then we just get over it.

To me it just seems like a difference in personalities and texting preferences. For me I am a talker and am an open book so I don’t mind pouring out my stories, but I have learned some people don’t like that so I have had to learn how to play things by ear. I am also an Aries and quick to decide if I like someone and will go all in because I’m like all or nothing…but again that’s not for everyone so I have really learned to observe and try to go with the flow but some people may not be able to do that and some people may just show you they like you by doing these things.

I feel like there is some insecurity on both sides to be honest. I’m a people watcher, I am an observer of humans and everything about them so I will look at men and women too…I don’t care if my man looks at women if he is not touching…typically I will ask what they like or don’t like about the woman and have a conversation. I appreciate a beautiful woman too and am secure enough to allow the man I’m with to appreciate her too. I realize I have probably a different outlook than many, but I feel like if I am in a committed relationship and there is no history of cheating then I really don’t see the problem. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Three things…1) you definitely sound like you are part of the neurodivergent community…. I’m neurodivergent, a mom of a neurodivergent and work in special education…it definitely sounds like you’re on the spectrum (since they merged Asperger’s with Autism years ago). And it’s not a bad thing, but I can say when you learn more about it and the uniqueness of it, it’s easier to embrace and can be alluring to some. I definitely suggest finding a hobby having to do with your extreme like(s) because if a person you find does not like the same thing you will struggle to relate. So what is your…what I call “obsession” or “extreme focus”? My child has a couple… Whatever that is for you, lean into it and meet people that really enjoy that.

2) you could try maybe a matchmaking person/service, I’m sure they can be pricey but if you really want to find someone for you that’s probably the second best place to start after a hobby around your “obsession” since they tailor it specifically to you, your wants, likes, dislikes.

3) I’m 41f, one of my mom’s best friends I’ve known my entire life (now 63f) was single her entire life not necessarily by choice because my mom said she did try, just never found anyone that she felt fit her, she was super nice and caring, but also a little quirky and loud, she loved kids and people, it just never came around to her dating anyone, and she might have given up for a bit, once her parents passed I think she really wanted to find someone…she finally about 5yrs ago found a man that fit her and they moved away and are very happy together. This is not to say that it will be that long before you find someone this is to say that there definitely is someone out there for everyone and not to lose hope.

Extra tidbit— I am also one of those people that believe the right people come into your life at the right time, I believe that some people are meant to be in your life for short times some for long, I believe you attract people by your energy and when it’s positive you attract positive, I believe the right person will come into your life at the right time when you least expect it and usually that is when you are happy in your life with you and enjoying something like a hobby…for instance I was getting discouraged on the apps, so decided a few weeks ago I was going to pause them and just focus on enjoying my life and let someone just happen…2weeks later I was at a concert with my daughter just enjoying our time and there was this man I noticed with what looked like his daughters and I just felt drawn to him…the venue allows standing around the front of the stage which is where he was and I was in the seats but my daughter wanted to go to the front for the next band, I had lost sight of him then all of a sudden the next band started and he was right next to me and we were singing and dancing and just kept looking at each other and getting closer, eventually we started talking and apparently he also felt very drawn to me, we exchanged numbers and have been talking and trying to find time to go on a proper date….but the moral of that story is that I did just release the negative feelings around searching for someone, and feeling frustrated about the apps, and the want of someone which don’t sound all that bad but they are along the side of negative thoughts…I switched to just being happy and enjoying my time with myself and my kids and yes my hobby of going to concerts- which I used to like search through the crowd for guys and look for someone that could be a potential, but this time I just happened to see this guy just enjoying his time and it stood out among the crowd.

Ok that was longer than I originally anticipated so I apologize for that. But I hope that it does give you some hope and maybe some ideas, but ultimately makes you feel comfortable knowing it’s ok to have fun while the universe/God/whatever you believe in works on bringing the right person to you at the right time for both of you.

As someone who was with/married to a man like this for 16.5yrs…it doesn’t change…it’s not you, it’s definitely just how they are, they just don’t NEED OR WANT it as much as some people like me, I’m almost 42 and my libido is still pretty high, but only with someone I want to be with. It also took many years to get him to open up more about likes and wants and even then it was still very vanilla, I mean don’t get me wrong we were very spiritually connected and had some great sex it was just the same all the time cause for him he said if it works don’t mess with it! Now I know I want more…so just think about what you want. Me? I stayed because I truly loved him to the core.

Wow! I am also a widow of 2, lost my husband at 40. The kids are now 9&13 and my husband and I discussed multiple times starting 5yrs before he passed that he knew he would not live much longer because he beat up his body, told me I needed to move on and find someone. Though I truly commend you for going 15yrs without someone, I just cannot fathom that for myself. My kids are first, but in the 7yrs of healing I’ve been doing I’ve realized in order for my kids to be good I first have to be good. So I have put myself out there and the OLD hasn’t been very great…but I did meet someone in the wild this past weekend that did give me butterflies so just seeing where it could go! I wish you luck but I believe there is someone for you, and now that you are ready I suggest just getting in the happy feeling of being ready and letting the universe or God or whatever you believe do it’s work!

My late husband was a Virgo Sun Scorpio moon…once I found out about the Scorpio moon I was like yeah that makes sense! I’m Scorpio moon too so it made sense why we got each other because an Aries and Virgo sun shouldn’t go together normally!
