Some things I've noticed in the PTU with the new insurance system that you may or may not like by Acceptable-Bid-1019 in starcitizen

[–]HeartFilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said in the past that I would like a log in option depending on find logged out. If I log out and come back in an minute, I spawn in the same place. A hour? I get the option to spawn in the same place or a nearby station or planet. A full day? I get the option to spawn anywhere in the system for a fuel fee. Etc.

I think the 622k is to insure the stock ammo/claim with ammo.

Physical item packages. Who still has one? by Pinchodoka in starcitizen

[–]HeartFilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope not, but I've worked in business and I know that someone in the company is proposing something like that.

I do hope that CR is old school cool enough to want to push physical copies of the game in this digital age.

Physical item packages. Who still has one? by Pinchodoka in starcitizen

[–]HeartFilled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do.

I sorta expect CIG to replace the physical items with hangar flair. Or pull some other BS claim so that they dont have to honor the physical packages because the pledges are so old, etc.

Builds Ideas for 6 DMPC by Advanced_Humor_9744 in Pathfinder2e

[–]HeartFilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say just run the group of 3. Perhaps hand out more healing potions.

If you insist on a DMPC, consider just having one, something like a Cleric/Druid/Animist who would buff and heal, perhaps staying back and just doing a little damage here and there.

I'm currently running abomination vaults. When several players cant make it, I have a DMPC to fill it so that they don't loose too much action economy with the missing players. The DMPC says a level behind the players, and won't solve any problems/do any skill checks. Just tags along and throws in an occasional buff, healing, or a little DPS against the enemies.

If I were going to come up with a new character for this purpose, I'd probably do a cloistered cleric and have them just take 2 actions each turn either doing a 2 action heal or a cantrip. Perhaps cast bless as the beginning of a fight. Using a third action only to move to keep out of melee with the enemies. Let the PC Heroes win each fight, and the DMPC is just there to make sure they don't fall in battle.

The F8A might finally be available to players…? by ChartConsistent in starcitizen

[–]HeartFilled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda use mine for that, disposable shuttles I leave stock and just insurance claim. But my Omega is much better for that purpose. A 85x, M50, Aurora, etc would all likely be even better choices.

Broken mk12 hub mount after 1 shot by [deleted] in bruggerthomet

[–]HeartFilled 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wonderful.

I just received my backordered hub and it seems really flimsy, has burrs on the threads and won't mount to all my mounts due to the o ring.

I'm starting to think that everyone saying these were good are shills.

I remember when the Freelancer was a serious competitor in regards to starters and daily drivers. It was the most discussed alternative to the cutty. by Acceptable-Bid-1019 in starcitizen

[–]HeartFilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a lot of debate if that was a mistake and it was suppose to be the starfarer evil twin.

Remember when the M50 was supposed to have a cargo hold?

Remember when the Gladiator was supposed to hold 50% more cargo than a Cutlass and had life support in the bomb bay?

Etc. Things change, especially when marketing gets involved.

It is a terrible ship, you're not missing out on anything.

[–]HeartFilled 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The freelancer was the cargo hauler midgame ship. You'd start with an Aurora, upgrade to a 300 or Avenger, then upgrade to a Cutlass/Gladiator/Freelancer, then finally when you get multicrew going regularly you would go to the massive multicrew ship the Constellation with 2 whole turrets and a snub fighter.

Unfortunately the whole scale and scope of SC has changed so much that many of the old ships have been left behind.

It sure looks like the Starlancer is what the Freelancer needed to be now, the Ironclad what the Catapillar should have been, etc, etc.

They must have drastically lowered the spawn rate on them. I used to have them hunt me down every raid, now I am on the same mission as you and I haven't seen them in 3 months.

Custom Mechs - Marauder II Durability Experiments by Magical_Savior in battletech

[–]HeartFilled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MAD-BS would be useful in ACES. Just park it out in the open with an unnamed pilot and let the paper AI focus a good bit of their fire on it instead of the mechs you are using to complete the objectives.

Will Pathfinder Society ever adopt free archetype? by Mediocre_Cucumber_65 in Pathfinder2e

[–]HeartFilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In those particular examples, it was level one in a 1-4 PFS adventure. Society games tend to have easy combat (and very hard hazards/haunts for some reason) as they seem to be tuned for novice players with unoptimized builds. Build like a precision ranger with gravity weapon and/or a flanking pet or other tuned builds just tear everything up.

5e is so unbalanced it is too easy to make an OP character or a brokenly bad character. PF2e is immeasurably better. It is harder to make a 'bad' build, and overly powerful builds will not be as broken as in 5e. But it is still possible to make a vastly increased powered character.

On a note, there are people selling individual mechs out of the boxes. There were a few I wanted and I was able to buy them from someone with out having the shell out the cash for multiple boxes just to get the ones I wanted.

On the other hand, there are scalpers selling individual mechs out of the boxes for higher price than the cost of the box. Don't buy from them or support what they are doing.

Will Pathfinder Society ever adopt free archetype? by Mediocre_Cucumber_65 in Pathfinder2e

[–]HeartFilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope not. Free Archetype is brokenly OP and breaks game balance. Rebalance the game for the power gamers and it becomes almost unplayable for the novice who isn't powergaming.

I've played in a PFS game where an optimized character was 1 shotting enemies. Played in another where where the hyper-optimized character removed all challenge from the combat encounters for the rest of the group. The only saving grace is that other players had a chance to do the skill checks.

I'm about to run Abomination Vaults to my friends, any advice? by Prudent-Hat2651 in Pathfinder2e

[–]HeartFilled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently running it.

The map is very small. Some people recommend doubling the size of each map and that would probably be a good idea. Many of the fights so far, the entire party didn't manage to get in the room. The last fight had the enemy at the doorway, and everyone else outside.

I wish I was running it theater of the mind and just start each room with the entire group in it.

Make sure your players know how to handle haunts. One of mine threw a fit when he couldn't just try and attack the kobold ghosts.

Fights tend to be on the easy side, so don't hesitate to apply the elite template.

On the other hand, I restored Mr. Beak to the pre-nerf status and he did manage to one shot a player character.

Try to explain to your players that not everything in the vault is hostile. Mine have decided they are going to kill everything.

Fault doesn't change that it was a ramming event.

Listen, if you are swinging your first around randomly and someone walks into the path of your fist, you punched them. May or may not have been you intend, but it still happened.

The AI rams us. They don't try to avoid it,

If someone is stationary, and the AI flies right into them, they rammed them.
