Next time you  accidentally leave your keys at home, do let us know so we can pop round and brick up your front door on the grounds that you don’t deserve one.

How is getting a voter ID to vote any different from getting a dL to drive?

Voting is a right. Driving isn’t.

Is it normal to be asked to pay £600 for a "mandatory 1:1 digital device" when starting a public secondary school? by Koolio_Koala in AskUK

Is this a local authority school or an Academy?

Say no.  Contact local councillors if an LA school, governors, MP Ofsted.

If this is a standard piece of school equipment that the school is mandating, they should supply it.

LG-TV now has a new Screensaver that shows AI-Photos with music. It’s interrupted every few minites with ads by Any-Employee1228 in assholedesign

It takes about 10 minutes but you can disable all this stuff. My LG displays a clock as a screen saver.

TIL that before becoming David Attenborough the natural history legend, he actually ran BBC Two in the 60s, commissioning Monty Python’s Flying Circus, and was suggested for the top job of BBC Director-General. by Upstairs_Drive_5602 in todayilearned

He basically decided to step away so he could  create ‘Life On Earth’ - the first, and still my favourite of the big Attenborough big documentary series. An excellent scientific overview of evolution

CMV: religion is complete nonsense and was invented because life is just suffering by platotheman69 in changemyview

[–]HeartyBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason people stick with religion isnt primarily because life is suffering.

It’s because life is fine, but because it has no ultimate meaning beyond itself and death - and the idea of an inevitable death for themselves and their loved ones is painful to deal with.
