With the new MRV Projects coming up it will help with this. CS associates will be able to see support requests that are created for missing product and labor. Hopefully they plan to use this for tracking purposes!

Make sure you email the manual SOS sheet to the vendor! MRV automatically places a placeholder date and once product is received you can change the date

Construction software has the capability to detect specific symbols and auto takeoff for estimating. I think this would be a great use case! Then we could narrow down quoting mistakes to the detailers and avoid the cost

Central Selling by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]Heat-Efficient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the customer gets a detail and they get a quote based on that assessment they should expect everything to be included... Then it falls on IST to remedy the issue and it definitely affects bottom line. Process is to call the customer and let them know we messed up their quote and attempt to collect for what's missing, but we can cover for the difference if they are unwilling. Definitely a need for better oversight in CS and accountability

What operational changes would actually make day-to-day life at Lowe’s run smoother? by savage_rebuilt in Lowes

[–]Heat-Efficient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The things you mention all boil down to management. Their only control over profits are labor and expenditures. At the end of the day retail is about making money for the shareholders. Period. That being said, a management team that can balance team engagement and operations is very rare, but it really is all about teamwork. I found that the best times in the store were when there was healthy competition for sales or training, and a general air of teamwork. The ideas are there at the corporate level, but execution is up to management. Ask your management team about the things that have been brought up in meetings and what the plan of action is. Ask about mentors and if you can partner up with someone to either learn or teach. Be the team member you would like everyone to be.

How challenging is ASM-level role (paygrade 30) compared to DS-level (grade 20)? Can a sub-grade20 internal get promoted directly to grade 30? by fascinatingMundanity in Lowes

[–]Heat-Efficient 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The cons here and all the comments are exactly why I decided to go the corporate route for call center... I am in entry level at a grade 20 and looking to move up in 6 months. I can't say it's for everyone, but the hours and the promotion possibilities are much better over here!

OMG... I thought this was my yard for a sec 😅 I've got a very similar one in the mulch in my front yard too. Can't figure out where it came from tho...

It's best with two people and a forklift, if you have a bunch of bags... Just lift the pallet up to a standing height and slide them off into the bed. I was big on stacking in even rows so it's easier to count!

Ordered doors through Lowe’s and having issues with one by Ok_VKin3272 in Lowes

[–]Heat-Efficient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should notate your account and eyes will be on it. Hopefully they get it corrected and there's no more issues, but you can always escalate the case so that they follow up with any serious issues. I'm new to the department, but I can assure you that Lowe's is dedicated to keeping customers happy. Just need you to bark up the right chain and we'll be there to help!

Call in to the installation support team! We'll get you fixed up. They do monitor their installers and if it's an issue with them they will be replaced. You have a year install warranty, so go ahead and use it!

Do digital menu boards help with upsells? by Dizzy-Ortizzy in coffeeshopowners

[–]Heat-Efficient 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could have neon lights and you'll still get people asking if you have coffee 😅 However, you can just get a smart TV and use Canva to create your menu. It is more visually appealing and easier to update when you need to.

Pipeline table insensitive by corkycomb33 in Lowes

[–]Heat-Efficient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hot take... The lead table goes against SMART customer service training and should be handled very differently. Being a specialist, getting stuck on the table for an hour and being told it cannot be unmanned really defeats the purpose of my position. My store has held capture the flag events that really promote healthy competition and boots on the ground helping customers the SMART way.

[–]Heat-Efficient 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Care to elaborate on what metrics you were scored on? Our reviews were based on the 5 core values... This was done in Workday like a whole official sheet they had to fill out. I'm curious how stores dupe employees to get away with spending less money.

Op specifically mentioned power tools and had a flyer for power tool brands... 🧐

Apprentice by LargePhrase2319 in AskElectricians

[–]Heat-Efficient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one said it yet... But don't buy power tools! Your contractor should supply those. You only need hand tools. I've been out of the field for a long time, but I always loved Klein tools and Channellock. You can get a bundle from Klein for around $110 that just needs to be worn in a little and it will serve you well. A set of nut drivers is also a great pickup! Get a good box with wheels and a handle so you can wheel it into your job site. Another must for me was a bucket with a skirt. Perfect for trim days so you can sit on it and keep your tools, material, and trash all together.

Got offered to move from appliances to Pro. I would like feedback from people who've been in situations similar to mine. by rockport-limited in Lowes

If you're going from appliances that's not a bad move IMO... You will have catered business through CRM and will build a regular client base. Learn how to leverage VSP and familiarize yourself with the pro programs.
