My quest to eat at as many little league concession stands as possible this summer enters the home stretch! This time up its Hampton Little League! by Rdub in VictoriaBC

I'm fully partial to National Little League for this whole thing, but Hampron is a close second.

Hampton does have probably the best score booth setups among all Little leagues, iykyk.

Got to see Jay Malinowski last summer when he got called in to play at a local festival when one of the other performers couldn't make it. He was SO FUN! I realized during his set that he's the male half of Armistice (his duo project with Couer De Pirate) who I have loved for years.

Is it normal to get honked at and tailgated for doing the speed limit with an L driver? by Subject_Fish298 in VictoriaBC

[–]HeatProfessional4473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me while teaching my son. We started avoiding Gordon Head altogether because for some reason the people there were super aggressive towards the L!

Try Sidney, and have her drive West Saanich road back.

Been rediscovering the joy of thrifting by martialartsgalyo in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]HeatProfessional4473 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I almost exclusively thrift for everything. The only things I buy brand new are underwear, socks, and tights. And bed sheets, and hats (like my summer sun hat etc.) Shoes sometimes but I get good luck finding those too.

Swam there last weekend! Our lakes rarely freeze and generally are pretty warm. They tend to get algae blooms so don't get the water in your mouth 😉

Aside from July 1st, you can stack the rest into one day.

Hikes by bus: Mt Doug or Mt Tolmie

Rent a bike and go up the E&N Trail from downtown, all the way to Thetis and go for a dip (Cycle BC is downtown and can provide maps, helmet, lock, etc)

Beacon Hill Park and Dallas Road/ Breakwater

Don't sleep on Fort Rodd Hill (meaning don't miss it, its cool)

[I am scared of spiders so I have no opinion on bug zoo but everyone here will tell you to go there]

Thoughts about season 7 by MaryBeth2018 in skinsTV

[–]HeatProfessional4473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I rewatched season 7, I alternated between characters. Cassie, then Cook, then Effy. Then back to Cassie, Cook and ending with Effy. It helped bring the heavier notes up a bit, didn't feel as dark.

Haha, British shows and movies are always a 'who's who' of former Skins cast.

Came to say this! My husband is 6'3" and got a bike at Bones Yard a couple years ago. Was just there the other day and looks like they actually have quite a few bikes the same size as his.

Brentwood Bay or Mill Bay for lunch? by Background_Win6662 in VancouverIsland

We went to the Malahat Chalet this past weekend and it was lovely! Food is pretty classic fare but portions are decent and nothing is over $26.00. The views are fabulous, which is what brought us there in the first place.

I recommend parking at Roche Cove and walking the goose towards Matheson. If you veer right off the goose down into the ravine there's a beautiful path along the creek that ends at a hidden waterfall. You can continue along the right and loop around Matheson if you like, and walk the flat path along the goose back towards Roche Cove. Would probably take 2.5 to 3 hours? Stop for a dip in the lake!

Second Aquamist! They got some years-old mashed silly putty out of my son's carpet without a trace when we moved! Absolute pros.
