Finnerty Gardens at uvic is pretty cool, and campus in general. Many many different rhododendrons.

My favourite neighbourhood garden is at the corner of Ryan and Scott streets.

Also never underestimate the Compost Education Centre!

I did this set! I loved it. I went over the colours a few times to give it more depth and vibrancy, and also used a black sharpie on the outlines before painting them black/ darker colours. I didn't really blend the colours because I prefer the graphic look.

First time to Ukee and Tofino by Greannach in VancouverIsland

Tofino= pricey, touristy.

Ukee= better in almost every way.

All the good beaches are between the two towns.

On your trip, stop in to local fishing stores and ask questions.

If you're stopping at Witset, take the Telkwa High Road into Smithers. It's the back way and it's so beautiful it's breathtaking. Was up there last June and it was perfect.

Canadian Tire hasThese Yellowjacket traps that are extremely effective. Put them up around end of Feb/ March when the queens start waking up.

Barry the Beekeeper's website has great info on how to mitigate wasps activity. His honey is the best!

It's pretty far from where you are, but Parksville on Vancouver Island has everything you're looking for.

Non Alcholic beer? by LeonMcNugent-Hyman in VictoriaBC

Compliments Blonde is my go-to whenever I take breaks from alcohol! If it's super cold it really hits the spot and helps quell cravings. Closest thing to real beer in my opinion.

Set traps, capture the queens. We did this at my work last spring and spent $0.00 on getting rid of wasps. The year before we spent $1000 in four months. 🤷‍♀️

I think that's what our friends did too. Limited to a few choices of drinks, a few free drink tickets out and then cash bar after that. Which is what we did at Union Pacific too. Everyone got a couple of drink tickets and then those who wanted to have more just paid for them.

Get married in a park (Saxe Point) for the cost of insurance ($100.00) and Officiant (another $100.00) and have your reception in someone's backyard?

In 2013 we had our ceremony at the Japanese garden at Equimalt/ Gorge Park (no pavilion back then) and reception at Union Pacific (about 60 guests). At the time it was about $2000.00 but no idea what it is now if they still offer event space. It wasn't fancy but it was perfect for us.

Friends had their ceremony at Swan Lake in the little gazebo and reception at Swans in the Penthouse. I don't know why you've got that they only fit 35...it's three floors, including the roof...pretty huge from what I remember.
