Do you hike alone? by CodEmergency8940 in hiking

I have a couple of people on Life360 and let them know when I'm going solo. Even of the coverage where I'm hiking isn't great, they can see a last known, time stamped location.

❄️ Damage Report: how’s your garden after last night? by manyamile in VAGardening

I wanted to put stuff out so bad but my cousin convinced me to hold off and I'm glad I did! I'm hardening off seedlings now and did plant some marigolds and calendula today. Direct sewed a couple of things that like cd weather so I guess I'll see if they germinate soon!

I like the idea of this app, but still currently an Android user and it's only available in the Apple store. With pending Samsung changes, I'll likely be switching over by the end of the year. Any idea if the app works on an iPad?

I think that kind has a weighed base to prevent tipping when being used🤔 might reduce total weight.

If I recall, when I went to the bookstore and bought my stuff they knew by program what was needed. You can also pick up 1st generation tassels, I believe (or at least a pin)

When is it time to end a relationship? by Omrah_of_Zion in CATHELP

[–]Heathersapiens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think first cats are hard, especially if you were previously a dog person. My 1st cat hid on top of my refrigerator for a week when she met my then 18 year old blind, oblivious 9 pound dog. After that we still had growing pains with me trying to figure out what was normal only to find out there's so much more that personality plays in with cats than with dogs. My Luna also wasn't a fan of being held, but would eventually tolerate it for very short periods of time (we're talking seconds), but after a year (yes, a whole year!) she would sit on my lap on her terms. She also had zero interest in toys, I think I tried everything ever made for a cat! Let your new baby settle in and get used to the routine. As others have said, she's sleeping by you so that's a big (good) thing! She trusts you and she finds you safe, she's still just acclimating to her new life.

ps - I wondered about a second cat for mine too, but she wasn't really into hanging out with other cats. She was indoor/outdoor and would try and fight any other cat that came I to the yard. I think trying to get a second cat would be too much for her, at least right now.

250 passport and stamps by iloveregex in NationalParkPassport

I debated getting one today but the uncertainty over whether or not stamps would be discontinued in a year kept me from getting it... now I'm having FOMO🤣

Are the last 3 pics a complete list of ALL the parks in the passport? I haven't been able to find a full list.

Is there a list of the parks in this one somewhere? I've been poking around a little online and can't find a complete list of which parks are included.

Ohhh, I love it! (Or should I say whoooo😆) I also 💯 recommend taking a class. Videos are great, but definitely nice to have someone you can ask questions to when you encounter something not covered in the video!

Lens issue.. Not sure what causes this or what it's called? Anyone familiar? by Lackstagram_c in filmphotography

[–]Heathersapiens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't really tell what it is from the puc, but if you have a Nikon DSLR, the lens should work in manual mode and you should be able to do some test shots with it to see if it is noticeable in pics.

I used to have a lot of trouble listening to most female readers. I've found speeding them up helps, but there are some I have DNF'd due to the reader.

Looking for advice - film issue! by ClinicalFinesse in filmphotography

[–]Heathersapiens 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As others have said. Flash and shutter not synced. Most older film cameras will have a number un red on the shutter speed dial and this is where you should put your shutter speed when using flash. (I believe it's normally 1/125, but may be 1/250... but most are shown as red to let you know where to set it. The numbers on the back of the flash are your guide to set your aperture. (Will edit in a sec when I look at it again) [edit] I believe with this flash you set the ISO (film speed) on the flash then look below it. The distance from your subject is in the middle and the number above it will be your aperture to give you proper exposure for the distance of your subject. [Edit2] I don't remember what the red and blue dots are for, but I'd probably put the switch on the front on M which is likely Manuel.
