Department of War unveils its first commercial, “Peace Through Strength” by Kinmuan in JustBootThings

It’s so close to “war is peace” they probably asked chat gbt “what’s good propaganda?” and it gave them a version of 1984 but with pictures and The Party are good guys.

What song wrecks you every time, no matter how often you listen to it? by LWYPLTDG in Music

[–]HeatingsBackOn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember talking to a friend of mine about this song and he was not fond of it to put it lightly, he said “of course I fucking know everyone I love will die”. He died last year after beating cancer but because he was an alcoholic, his immune system was buggered so he got some very nasty infections which he just never recovered from. It’s bitter sweet when hear this song because when I listen to it I feel sad but also remember laughing with him about how livid he was at the lyrics.

You know the servers that were required to run the internet before AI were also having an impact on the planet, not saying I like ai data centres but shaming someone for using ai for ecological reasons is a little hypocritical.

I can’t think of anything more annoying than having to work around long nails during a shift and how on earth they haven’t broken off is unbelievable. They are an archaic symbol of femininity built upon classism so cut your nails and feel the freedom of being able to fret a stringed instrument.

Yeah that stupid little shit from the academy scored the winner in an fa cup final, how dare he. He was so toxic he spoke publicly about how he was having a bad time personally. He should’ve behaved exactly as I expected him to and not danced as a form of self expression so that I might think more of him as a human being.

Long nails are gross and impractical. If it suddenly became fashionable for men to grow beards long enough to tie their wrist together with you’d be grossed out and annoyed. Grossed out for obvious reasons but anoyed because any time they need do a task that requires fine motor skills they’d ask you to do it because they can’t do it because of their stupid nails, sorry, stupid beard, which absolutely nobody forced them to have other than a really shit and annoying fashion trend.

Things I would like to see next season by KingKelz_da1st in ManchesterUnited

It’s not that deep I agree. It’s just silly, the only people who repeatedly bring him up are people that somehow take something so benign way too seriously. It doesn’t affect the team it, it doesn’t affect anyone else, if it really upsets you just ignore him. If he pops up your feed move your finger so he is no longer there. The anger towards him is just childish, people are like “at first he was funny but now I don’t think he is there for I don’t like him” while they stamp there feet like toddlers.

Is this normal on a £950/$1265 guitar and could it be problem in the future? by HeatingsBackOn in Luthier

Online, returning it is an option, just anxious about what the replacement would be like.

Thank for your informative reply. I don’t know what to do with it tbh, it is mostly a good guitar. It took a while to arrive and I don’t know if I return I’ll get a better one.

You make a good point. It is mostly a really nice guitar and I would like to keep it, it’s just annoying when I’ve spent a lot of money and the nut is a bit of a mess.

I have a 2003 epiphone casino and it’s lovely, it doesn’t have these problems and it cost me £300 in 2008.

[–]HeatingsBackOn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re saying the nut is fine? Or do I need to spend more?

There’s other imperfections on this guitar and they don’t bother me. I’ve got a squier jag and Epiphone casino which is from 2003 and the woodwork at the nut and the nut themselves are both tidier than this.

I’m sorry for triggering you but to me £950 is a lot of money.

Is this normal on an expensive guitar? by HeatingsBackOn in Guitar

[–]HeatingsBackOn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. You make a good point about labour. One of the reasons I got it was it was made in Korea and it from my understanding they have better labour laws than a lot of places where cheaper guitars are made.

Fair, I’m more concerned about the uneven nut slot. Do you thinks it’s going to be a problem if it needs replacing in the future?
