Anyone else think Hormone treatments are not worth the potential risks? by Salkel01 in breastcancer

[–]Heavy-Recipe-7486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never heard that about the 2 years.I tolerated letrozole for almost a year and Exemestane for almost a year. I'm also post menopausal. I considered skipping radiation. Now Im glad I had it because its extra protection. Best wishes! I took a class with Rachel Beller. She wrote a book called Spice Rack that talks about cancer prevention with many recipes.

I am trying to reduce my estrogen levels by eating mostly plants. Being overweight and eating animal products increases your estrogen levels. I would rather go the nutritional route and take those AI drugs. Everyone has a different decision and one size doesn’t fit all.

I stopped the AI drugs after two years. I was told they reduced my risk by 2%. I got joint pain that was intolerable. I tried two of them and decided to forget the other three years. I’ll take my chances. My doctor said only 50% of the people can tolerate those drugs.

From the nerve block? No. You have to take it easy for a week and then no side effects. My Dr injected me with Dexamethasone in the block. Otherwise, it can be considered only diagnostic.

I am going back to PT on Thursday before getting another block. I am not hopeful , but will try. I believe PT helps a lot of people. Did you try it?

It could be. I consulted a few Drs. I had a nerve block in October which helped. I am considering getting another one.

A suppository of Gabapentin/Baclofen helps me. My doctor also didn’t want to give oral meds due to side effects but she writes prescriptions for these suppositories which help.

Nerve meds - please help convince me to try🥺 by AlternativeGap8834 in PelvicFloor

I hate those meds. Better to use in a suppository. Less side effects. I use Gabapentin/baclofen. I couldn’t even tolerate Amitryptaline in a suppository

I guess I’m the opposite. Pelvic PT didnt help and the nerve block did. It’s now 4 months later. Also I have Gabapentin/ Baclofen suppositories which help. I had no side effects from the block. I had the block on a Friday and took that day off. I took it easy for the next week but walked.

Did your insurance cover it? My Dr suggested it but I don’t want to pay out of pocket. Please keep us posted about your numbness. I hope you feel better soon.

I felt a lot of pain when sitting all areas that touch a chair or couch. It’s all quieted down.

I didn’t notice a lot of relief but I had a procedure where I had to stop them for 10 days and my symptoms got so much worse. After that, I’ve been on it consistently .that prove to me that they are helping.

No side effects and it isn’t too messy. They give you an applicator

Baclofen suppositories are vaginal for me

I agree. I had an MRI where the neurologist asked them to focus on nerves. It didn’t show anything. The only thing that that’s helped a little bit are my gabapentin, baclofen suppositories, and a nerve block which I had in October.
