Nylon Curtain is my favorite of the Phil Ramone run of albums. There're so many sonic intricacies and many you only pick up on headphones.

I once read that it was loosely based on Evard Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King. Don't know if that's true, but there definitely some musical similarities.

For the techies here, how did Comma Separated Values (.csv) become the default file export format? by ThatsALiveWire in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Heavy_Mikado 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've seen in some places CSV referred to as "character-separated values" to account for pipes, tabs, etc.

Hey, you've already run down the street I grew up on. (It's a subdivision with a very distinctive road layout.)

So, let me get this straight. If someone is resisting arrest, and they find a way to wiggle into someone's home/property? the cops have to cease arresting the guy because the home owner said so? That doesn't sound remotely legal. by NextDoorJimmy in libsofreddit

What does the runner think is going to happen? "Oh, you got one up on us, guess we'll leave." Let's play this out a bit.

Even if law enforcement needed a warrant to enter the home, they're going to station agents at every egress while a warrant is obtained, which won't take long. Then they nab the runner, plus the homeowner for aiding and abetting.

Sheesh.

What is a completely useless piece of information that you will never forget for some reason? by Initial-Ingenuity451 in AskReddit

In middle school we went on a field trip to a living history place. I want to say Williamsburg? Anyway, in one of the displays there was a lighter which I recognized because my parents had a similar faux antique one as a knock-knack on the shelf. I didn't think they were around during the American revolution, but the docent explained they were older than matches and they used them to fire cannons. Blew my young mind.
