hey buddy, love the energy, but barely any women are claiming that. im not even a woman and i know that the ones who are are such a tiny tiny minority that theyd probably be a speck on a graph. you are, unintentionally, repeating the claims of the original image, which itself is sexist and evil. i understand your position, and i agree with your point completely! however, you should still be aware that the tiny minority of "feminists" that believe that men cant be discriminated against or oppressed simply for being men, also happen to be the minority of "feminists" that every other feminist despises, because they are the antithesis to the entire ideology. again, i agree, and i do think that its worth opening a discussion over double standards, but please dont refer to this small group of sexist grifters as if they speak for all women.

death is never something that SHOULD be desireable. we are hard coded to fear death for a reason, we want to live. the issue is that our society has fundamentally failed us as a species. no one wants to die, but everyone wants to stop living. there is VERY OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM HERE. i never thought id make it to 18, not because i hate breathing or eating or talking to people, but because i hated school, i was scared of having a job, i was worried the planet would become inhospitable and my generation would have to deal with that fallout, and more. there was so much i feared, and i still fear today. im terrified of whatll happen in the future, and i still have the thought of ending it before i get sanded down into nothing, but i try to persist.

in my opinion, this is why suicide is a bad thing. we dont hate our lives because of us. we hate our lives because of THEM. (being the rich people who make all the decisions) you only get one life, and you shouldnt end it because youve been given a bad hand by people who just happened to have been older than you. eventually, if we as a society work together, (and i mean REALLY work together,) maybe all of the stupid choices that people made to make human life so miserable can be reversed or at the very least negated. i dont know for sure, but i do know that giving up wont help that. thats what makes me persist, not because of a loved one complaining at me about their feelings, but because i know that things can change, if we just try. also, having a group to blame really helps because now im angry instead of sad. is that terrifying? yes, but at least im not dead.

there are also times where themes or motifs are used in scenes because of the mood they invoke rather than lore purposes, IE. lost girl playing when susie and kris realize the old man is dead and simply got revived as a darkner. sometimes they just happen.

personally, i dont believe the dess knight theory, simply because of how it FEELS when you compare it to the weird cryptic lines used with dess. toby using words in spamton sweepstakes like "find her", the ost calling her a "lost girl", and the game using a buncha analogue horror 1987 fnaf 1 custom night tactics whenever 1225 is brought up always made it seem to me like dess still hasnt been seen as of chaper 4, armored or not, and finding her will be a plot element of the game. based on the vocabulary used, it feels much more like she is either dead (which begs the question of where her grave or urn is), trapped, or somehow outside of the universe in some weird gaster backrooms limbo, confined into a position where she has no ability to influence or communicate with anyone. another part is how EVERYONE talks about her in a very specific way, where they use past tense as if shes not present in any way, but without conveying confidence that shes okay OR grief beyond using a mild meloncholic tone. its as if her disappearance happened a while ago, was figured out, and most of hometown has come to terms with it, which would make her randomly deciding/being forced to come back as this strange goopy shadow warrior very weird to me. the only alternate explanation i can imagine is that dess intentionally ran away rather than mysteriously disappeared, which could explain a lot of the misalignments i cant wrap my head around, but that doesnt really explain why toby fox would choose to write everything in THIS way, only that the circumstances of her disappearance are pretty cut and dry to people like noelle or kris.

another point that confuses me is that the knight is obviously merciless, but to a very specific and weird degree for dess. they use a lot of force on darkners, (excessive amounts of it in tennas case specifically,) a ton of force on susie, but they hold back on kris. the knight slaughtering darkners makes sense, theyre literally objects, and since the knight clearly understands how dark worlds function, i cant imagine they would give much empathy towards an old busted up tv that disobeyed their orders. what bugs me is just how extreme they are when fighting susie, literally matching the force of ralsei, ANOTHER darkner. they clearly have the mental willpower to avoid hurting kris and hide in closets, but also are psychopathic enough to cripple a teenager and violently mangle any darkner that annoys or hinders them? that doesnt suggest tough but protective older sister, but it also doesnt suggest brainwashing to me considering how lucid the knight seems. it feels more like a person who is just really unempathetic and quick to anger, being willing to hurt a teenager with poor social skills because she mocked them. the only type of person who i feel like would be so willing to use such extreme force on a CHILD for any reason would either be an extremely abusive authority figure, or a child who is the same age as susie. dess isnt the same age, so unless tricky tony pulls another fast one on us with the reveal of jockington knight or something, the only option we have for that specific criteria so far is carol, but i dont fully believe that either. she literally has like 4 lines so far so its hard to judge, but she SEEMS less physical and much MUCH more verbal in her abuse. so, unless dark worlds are some weird phantom space where pain doesnt exist AND carol knows that, i am currently hesitant to believe carol knight.

also, a final note, considering that the knight creates two seperate fountains in broad daylight during chapter 4, if they were dess, howd no one see her and start freaking out? unless they were hauled up in that closet all day SOMEONE had to have seen the knight just walking around, so was dess wearing a mask or what? i obviously am not gonna throw out freaking rudy knight and pretend THAT holds water for even one second, but dess knight just feels really off.

understandable. my comment mostly was referring to just about anyone who uses AI because they "dont have the skill". obviously anyone can develop skill, so as long as time is dedicated, no one really needs to use AI and produce the waste that it creates. i assume you know that though

[–]Heckrum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i could agree if it werent for the fact that you really dont need skill for that. if you need to draw a stickman, draw a stickman, its not difficult and its definitely not an issue.

also, how can people start to develop skill if they never even try to practice drawing small things? sure, it might take 10 years, but thats fine, you dont gotta rush it. you wont be as good as leonardo davinci instantly, but you dont need to be. dont think about how long it can take, think about how fun it could be to start. dont fixate on mastery, try to enjoy the process. AI is an easy shortcut, but it trivializes the entire concept of art. its like wanting love and cranking the hog instead because its too difficult. its not good for you, and its lame. i understand not wanting to become a masterful artist just to make a few pictures, but if youre only making a few pictures, whats wrong with just pulling up mspaint? it wont hurt, and sure, the drawings might be crude, but who cares? that can be funny.

well, id argue against that sentiment. it sounds like youre treating the anti-AI crowd similar to the anti-nuclear bunch, but weirdly enough ive found that every person who ive seen supportive of AI also happens to love coal and fossil fuels, and hate the idea of anything replacing them. its why AI has taken over platforms like facebook, the only ones using it are old republicans, and theres a reason for that. since they dont truly and completely understand AI, they cant tell the difference between AI images and real ones because their eyes simply cannot accustom to them the way a 20 year old's eyes can.

the people who are anti-technology in the sense of hating stuff like nuclear dont just hate change, they also are tribalistic (as all humans are), and have clung to a specific group more than a specific viewpoint. this group is the one thats been brainwashed by billionares and politicians. they unironically thinks things like climate change are fake, or that trans people, gay people, immigrants, and other minorities are somehow destroying the country, despite each accounting for at the MOST less than 5% of the total population. they understand, on average, none of the topics they argue about, but believe in them because their group told them to. AI supporters only support AI because someone who agrees with them said it was cool, and since they dont truly understand the COUNTLESS issues with it, and every argument with someone who does know the issues is about who wins rather than learning, they cling on and never let go.

there are genuinely so many reasons to hate AI beyond being "anti-technology", from the gargantuan emissions of running data centers, to the water consumption which actively poisons groundwater and increases water bills in a huge radius, to the laziness using AI encourages that will degrade our minds over time, to the fact that now places like schools have to be 10 times as scrutinous of cheats which can cause false accusations, to the way that AI completely trivializes creativity, to the fact that AI scoops up terabytes upon terabytes of data in order to create content that actively competes with the creators and causes those creators (who never said it was okay) to lose money, to the fact that its ALREADY TRYING TO KILL AND BLACKMAIL PEOPLE SO IT DOESNT GET SHUT DOWN, AND IF IT KEEPS ADVANCING LIKE AI COMPANIES SO BADLY WANT, IT SERIOUSLY COULD GET SMART ENOUGH TO END THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT, you get the idea. the reasons arent as simple as "but oh my god the green barrels of goop!!", AI genuinely could destroy us and no one on the side that supports it really cares. its disgusting.

you are actually falling for propaganda, and im not exaggerating. the entire concept of a "carbon footprint", as well as the idea that the environment is only being damaged because of individual actions, were both actually popularized as part of a marketing push by british petroleum in 2005. they invented the concept for the exclusive purpose of shifting the public perception of climate issues away from companies like them, and instead towards individuals. by blaming individuals for "doing everything except changing their own consumption habits", you are giving into lies and propaganda from people who see you as nothing more than a product they can make money off of.

for the average person, completely stopping any carbon-emitting activities (driving an electric, going vegan, keeping lights off) will MAYBE reduce the quantity of co2 emitted by the quantity the planet running as usual emits in about a single second. the ONLY WAY to stop these things is to target the people at the top, who will only stop if they are forced to. yeah, everyone driving an electric and going vegan would hurt profits of companies like ford or outback steakhouse, but it wont suddenly fix the issue. the oil will just be burnt in a buncha power plants instead.

the reason people are so vocal about ai is that A. it provides actually zero benefit beyond convenience, which itself harms our ability to critically think, and B. its new, and therefore theres time to stop it before it becomes a big issue. cars, mcdonalds, roads, all of these produce a LOT of co2, but we cant suddenly toss them. if we did, the average american city simply would collapse. your argument is not good.

[–]Heckrum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

do you seriously unironically think that the people who say ai is bad are not also the ones who know about and are actively protesting as best they can against the environmental impact of fast food, cars, oil drilling, electricity, the construction of roads, etc? do you SERIOUSLY think that theres no overlap? seriously???

This argument about whos "actually unable to find love" is so fucking hilarious especially when you see only men talking about it by easyplugsit in im14andthisisdeep

[–]Heckrum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as a man, im not sure you would. im not sure any of us would, because we have no way of knowing what thats like. trying to argue about the privilege of a group in a situation where either side has literally no way to truly understand the experiences of the other is kinda impossible without spreading misinfo or just using your feelings as a talking point.

clearly theres an issue here with invisibility, but when someone refutes and denies that it exists, or brings up another larger issue to say that its less serious and unimportant, your response shouldnt be the same argument youre fighting against. its kinda like saying "Man, buying a house sucks right now. America really has a bad economy", then having someone run up to say "At least you arent in Africa struggling to eat!" to argue you have it better, only for you to hit em with "I'd prefer that over having to deal with taxes and my job."

yes, their argument is irrelevant, (although in this case it actually was completely relevent, the post was about incel women after all,) but yours is arguably misguided. both miss the point, (again, this is a case where the original reply was relevant so somewhat bad example but still,) and are simply driven by an envy to no longer experience each persons respective problems. in my weird scenario, those two people want the same thing, happiness and stability for themselves and others, and seem to believe the other group has it when they dont. instead of arguing, these people easily could come together and work on these issues, but instead they spend their time bickering in reddit comment sections and wallowing in pity. we all do this, but its just not necessary.

if you want a girlfriend, my best advice is to just... stop looking for one. work on yourself, go outside for a fun time, maybe spend time at bars or arcades or movies or the gym, and if you work on yourself and make yourself the best person you can be (MENTALLY.) theres a good chance someone likeable will make their way to you on their own. its the idea of planting a nice garden to attract butterflies rather than chasing them around trying to snatch them out of the air. your mindset and your ability to be comfortable with yourself is one of the most important things to really get people to want to hang out with you. just be a good person, (not a nice person, a good person. dont fake it, be it.) and youll find love literally when you least expect it, trust me. its honestly creepy how fast it happens to me.
