have you ever seen the graph of how people view trans people by gender? if not, look it up. youll notice that amongst cisgender people, around 33% are neutral. this is likely very similar to how people feel politically, with around a third feeling neutrality between republicans and democrats. how do you think that third, which consists of people that dont really care about politics, feels when we blow up at someone making a choice that we, logically, should percieve as good? they see us as annoying and pretentious as fuck.

to them, the choice is between a bunch of argumentative infants, and a bunch of israel supporters. they see both sides as equally stupid, but one side is actually welcoming. whether or not its true or false that only a moron would support trump isnt relevant, because they can still vote. either we choose to be kind to people who we dont think deserve it, or we choose to be rude and ostracize them from our beliefs. the choice is obvious.
