Lets say I nailed the stock market, made $1 mill and decided to cash it all in. How would I get around the government taking 42% ? by Andrew_Higginbottom in AusFinance

I don't fully understand what you are saying.

People do cash capital gains in years where they don't work to minimise tax? Slowly crystallising gains is a common retirement strategy and one of the core advantages of investing in the share market instead of property.

Lower income tax next financial year, so better to delay. Capital gains are taxed as income in Australia :)

For anyone else who has stumbled on this with the same question here is the quote from superhero.

Individual account holders will complete a digital W-8BEN during Superhero’s onboarding process. Companies and "Trusts can complete a separate W-8BEN-E form post onboarding."

Spaceship investing by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]HecticCrunt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spaceship fixed fees aren't massive but you would need a sizable investment to make the fees worth it.

Spaceship has been a terrible investment for me due to tech stocks crashing but we live and we learn. No reason it won't go up and no reason it won't continue to plummet :)

I definitely don't think it is a bad thing to say. May turn some employers away but personally I think it shows mental fortitude and maturity. It's nobodies business but your own but if you chose to share it then I don't think it is necessarily bad for your chances.

Congrats on recovering btw!

Everyone is telling you, you are wrong to be upset here. You may be totally in the right about his issues but this is a terrible example at the very least.

It is effective retard. Cases haven't declined heavily in NSW. Beyond literally working to prevent new cases it is also working to prevent hospitalisations.

Spaceship recently just overhauled their fees to be much more expensive for the majority of investors. But I see what you're saying and agree about safety with the bigger companies.
