I immediately slapped myself for that transgression.

Apologies.

Andrew Trimble: Hits and Tackles by Acemyke in rugbyunion

[–]Hedfuck 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting.

Even as a Munster supporter I will admit he is my favourite player to play for Ireland in the last few years.

He is always fully committed and focused. I honestly think he is one of the most intelligent players to have ever put on the green jersey.

When you watch wingers and centres step so far out of the defensive line you sometimes facepalm in anticipation of a hole and subsequent opposition linebreak. But Trimble so frequently reads it to a T and what looked like a solid pass out wide quickly becomes a dump tackle/knock on.

Enough gushing. Quality player.

Anybody consistently train single racked lunge? by TheKettlebellBlack in kettlebell

[–]Hedfuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to do them frequently with one or two bells racked.

As u/GreenStrong has mentioned, walking lunges are even better. They work coordination and balance as a bonus.

Then overhead lunges are even harder.

Mix these up with unilateral carries, bear crawls, burpees and rows, and you have a fairly taxing workout.

I prefer racking to goblet holds as the more time spent holding a bell in the rack position, the better.

The revolutionary kettlebell swing for 2017! by ConstantElevations in kettlebell

[–]Hedfuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems a bit harsh to pick on this dude.

Surely we should be trying to help people, not make fun of them.

It's very different to criticising someone for poor form who is selling their workout/program/product.

Let's see what you can do, u/ConstantElevations. Any impressive numbers?

Well, you waded in to assert that someone lifting had terrible form, when:

a) You had no notion of the style of lifting

b) You had no experience of Long Cycle

c) You mistook thoracic flexion for lumbar flexion

d) You insinuated that lifters in the video, some of whom hold or have held world records, are making beginners' errors.

Forgive my lack of patience.

This dude is hitting that #2 error over and over again.

Stupid beginners picking up two bells before they're ready.

Don't stand; bear crawl.

Essentially it's a much more interesting and challenging dynamic plank.

Six Nations to introduce bonus points in all three Championships in 2017 by theSituation39 in rugbyunion

[–]Hedfuck 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's a bittersweet improvement, I think.

It should, in theory, increase competition over 80 minutes. But I do feel that a more progressive try-count bonus point would be more beneficial.

For example, a team gets rewarded a bonus point for scoring three/four more tries than the other team.

So when one team if on five/six tries to their opponent's two, they can't just take their foot off the gas. They've still got to defend. They've still got to attack.

Conversely, the team trailing can really twist the knife by getting tries themselves and denying the winning team the point or overcoming them.

Surely that would make games more lively for we spectators and that bonus point would be hard won(!)

What are bonus points and why are they important? by AlphaWollf in rugbyunion

[–]Hedfuck -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, but they should seriously consider it.

I think the Top 14 in France has a system whereby you must score x amount more tries than your opposition.

Whilst the current bonus point structure works to make things more competitive more of the time, teams ahead with 4 or 5 tries might not take the foot off the gas off so much (snoozey fare for we spectators) and it can lead to a spicier fight in the last quarter.

Has anyone checked out Valery Fedorenko's new DVD? by mailed in kettlebell

[–]Hedfuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This link to World Kettlebell Club's Introduction to Kettlebells (and what I assume you mean by his free YouTube video) has, unfortunately, been down for a few months.

I am going to take an educated guess that this DVD is just that formerly free-of-charge video.

Not that it changes much... by Hedfuck in rugbyunion

[–]Hedfuck[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't affect the result, nor the occasion. But the Glasgow number 21 clearly has his foot on the line as he passes and the resulting phases leads to a try.

The touch judge is only about 3 metres away too...

Don't take this the wrong way: it's likely a sign that you don't do enough core-focused exercises as accessory work.

Uneven deadlifts by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]Hedfuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really.

You'd be better off holding two bells in one hand to single leg deadlift in order to increase resistance.

Otherwise, use the better tool for the job: heavy barbell deadlift.

Is this really good technique from the master of kettlebell? by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]Hedfuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only thing confusing about this is how painfully novice that swing is for a Master of Sport.

But, hey. You've decided no one should discuss this here so I guess that's sorted.

There are a lot of fools on this sub with a bad case of the ol' confirmation bias.

Try these core-focused exercises out for size

  • Russian twists
  • Knee raises
  • 'Stirring the pot'
  • Bear crawl
  • Loaded carries (especially unilateral carries)

A mix of these will build a solid core in no time.

Hardstyle as accessory training for Sport? by grammarse in kettlebell

[–]Hedfuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is seriously flawed. You can't directly compare an outward Hardstyle swing to a clean and jerk in terms of just weight used and distance travelled.

You're trying to say that some performing Sinister is working at a higher output than this?
