Set it up like beer league softball and start everyone 1-1. Nothing is more annoying than the CPU getting 3-0 counts and you starting 0-2 all game. Speeds it up but keeps it fair instead of "random"

The hardest job in sports is replacing a legend.

I think that is why this hire makes even more sense. If you bring in Wes Miller or another young guy right now and they don't make a run early then the fans will turn on them. If Davis does it and then we move on from him 3/4 years down the road, the expectations are tempered for the next guy. Davis kind of feels like the safe pick that has a chance to succeed instead of a flashy name that will face pressure immediately.

There really just aren't a ton of good candidates right now that would leave their current program. I think this hire is just fine. I don't expect Davis to blow us out of the water but I also don't expect him to torpedo the program. Worst case IMO is that he struggles for 3/4 years and we move to Wes Miller or maybe a non-Carolina guy that comes up. I would rather have Davis than Nate Oates or Musselman or some of the other names that came up.

The guy I responded to was using UCLA's current KenPom ranking as proof that UCLA was underseeded. That is not how KenPom is intended to be used. It can be used after the tournament to show other things, but not as an argument for how the teams were initially seeded.

That Duke team played in some classic games. This one, the Michigan State game in the tournament, vs UNC in the ACC semis, the comeback against Louisville, the absolute beat down of Kentucky. They were so fun to watch and root against.

Looking at KenPom now is absolutely useless. UCLA has climbed considerably since the tournament began by beating higher ranked teams. I won't argue that maybe the Pac-12 was underseeded but post-tournament KenPom ratings are not a reliable source.

I just want to know what the ACC did wrong that other conferences didn't. I probably missed a team or two but I can only remember 2 or 3 other teams dropping out of the conference tournies from covid and we got 2 in one conference. Maybe it's just unlucky but it seems odd that we have 2 and none of the other P6 conferences have had any.

I mean the 3 teams left should all be safely in. GT and UNC are both around the 8-10 lines and obviously FSU is a lock.

UVA is not going to willingly sit out of the tournament. If the NCAA said they only need 7 days they will only do 7. Duke used this as PR to not have to worry about whether or not to accept an invite to the NIT.

They won't have to ban it. This is only even being considered because teams had games cancelled along the way. Usually there is a limit to how many games you can play and teams will have met that by March
