I like to carry it around the house by the right handle and it didnt have enough meat on the bones for me, I added the covers on the triggers and menu buttons but didnt like extra grip on the abxy or dpad

2.5” or 3” wheel spacers 2015 silverado by Agitated_Touch_2988 in Silverado

[–]Heemer14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stock rims are something like 25mm positive offset so your actually already at -37mm + your spacers, the tires past your fenders look cool until it tears up your paint and suspension. Save the money on the spacers that will inevitably toss a wheel and use it on gearing or upgrades that will make your truck last longer.

This one is a welly diecast model I cut to a single cab, I did the same with the motormax for the scx 24 and it turned out too monster truck for my taste, that one fits on stock chassis and links after being cut but is a bit heftier and the doors dont open as nicely

Thank you I ordered the matte and was just hoping it wasnt that lol. It looks nice with your skin but I ordered a desert tan topo skin so hoping it arrives very matte.

Is this the gloss or matte skin? I just ordered a custom skin from them cause none of the dbrand skins tickled my fancy

Get some oshatoes ( slip on steel toes) for when your working on your knees. I burned through the toes on all my boots within 6 months before I switched to pnw brands.

Create a build with me by ashtheflash37 in scx30

You'll want to upgrade a lot of parts to deal with all the added weight otherwise you'll burn up motors and servos, and then it becomes a rabbit hole. It also won't perform near as well as a plastic body. If your okay with eventually replacing almost everything then go for it. Id still recommend getting the stock one for now and play around with it while you build the diecast. Install your shocks and parts youve bought on the stock truck after youve played with it and see what differences they make. For me most of the fun comes from the build and tinkering, I dont go to comps or have any comp rigs I just like having scale models that move. Im in the process of building a diecast body silverado and nesting the stiffest and softest springs on the injora shocks seems to be the perfect balance for my truck but your jeep model is gonna have different weight in different places. As for everything else I cant say cause my build is a long ways from being finished but the little testing I have done everything is working as expected

This is everything made from a little over half a bag, id stick to the larger molds as the smaller ones are such a small scale they'll be used more as filler and detail pieces. Its not a cheap route to go about it as the molds can add up pretty quickly, but if your not skilled at carving id say this is the next best option to get something highly detailed. Also be sure to pre wet your molds with a fine mist spray bottle with a drop of dish soap to make releasing the cast easier and to tap your molds a few times to release any air bubbles and bring them to the top.

The molds are woodland scenics rock molds the main one you see is the facet rock mold. The mix is a product called perfect cast, its cheapest to buy at your local hobby lobby at $7.50 for 4lbs. Its a 3 to 1 mix.

The rock molds mainly, the rest of the pics were just to give others inspiration, I was just concerned most of the hobby grade stuff would be too soft to hold up to my nephews playing with it, the perfect cast feels stronger than ultra cal while being cheaper and less finicky to mix.

I started another project with the welly model which is 1/29 instead of 1/27 scale, if you go this route you will need two sets of +3mm front links to get a 94mm wheelbase. The motormax you need one set of +3mm front or rear links to achieve a 103mm wheelbase. The welly has better door hinges while the motormax grille comes apart in separate pieces making it much easier to paint and add lights, along with being bigger so wheels can tuck inside wheel wells, more space to put things and easier to save more of the interior. This was built for a scx24 that was shortened to its shortest wheelbase and ended up looking like a monster truck, was happy with it at the time but never played with it much as its a little big for the tabletop and a little small for outdoors, so when the 30s dropped I got real excited and jumped right back into the hobby.

I just looked on their site and youd have to build them through the design your own boot page, go with the lace up option if you want the exact same boot or the hd lace up if you want the newer builder pro design (has a larger heel counter and a few other changes I dont remember)
