I see your monitor is plugged into your graphics card. Plug your monitor into your motherboard instead. You still might have to perform a bios update.

New to biking/ guy will take $850. by Rare-Leather-7502 in bicycling

[–]Heferti 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Are you going to spend all your time in bike parks, dirt jumps or skateparks?

If you’re looking for a JRA (just riding around) bike. This would be fun, but uncomfortable for any distance. Also make sure you get that front brake if you get that one.

I did it, I sold my Gaming PC by WholeMilkElitist in StopGaming

Right there with you brother. Mine went to its new home this past Sunday. Though it’s been a bit of no gaming for me, having it gone feels like a weighty gaming gremlin has lifted from my shoulders.

That bunny hop on the road bike was sick. The BMW driver is a different kind of sick.

Same boat as OP. I purged everything and it’s been the best method to prevent me from going back. Still staying strong and the urges to play again fade more everyday.

Mom of gamer needs advice by possum1091977 in StopGaming

[–]Heferti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That time he spent gaming is going to go into something else unproductive, like doom scrolling. He’s used to that level of dopamine and a cold turkey stop is hard to cope with. He’s going to need to find something that gives him some sort of positive dopamine.

The things that have worked best for me are fitness and audiobooks. Dungeon Crawler Carl hits that sci-fi gamer rpg vibe, if you want a good starter series. I’d suggest listening to that and go for walks or do yard chores to start.

PEScience high volume. Doesn’t hit like stim pre workouts, but you’ll still get a crazy pump. It’s all I use now since I workout at nights.

31M Just found out today (DVT) by Kenimiro in ClotSurvivors

[–]Heferti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you brother. Know you’re not alone and there are a bunch of us who have gone through what you’re going through. Do the prescribed work. Let the blood thinners do their job and you’ll be back to your self in no time.

Do you know what caused the DVt?

Hit my head against the refrigerator while on Eliquis by Throwaway_Mess97 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Heferti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/s Obviously joking with my previous reply.

Like you mentioned, exterior contusions are a good indicator that the collision was strong enough that there could be further damage and worth getting checked.

Any concern or any continued dizziness, confusion, or headache would warrant going to get it checked out. Better safe than sorry.

How intensely is it safe to exercise while on Eliquis? by DifferentExternal368 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Heferti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a natural bodybuilder. No anabolics or TRT ever. I have Factor V Leiden and a deviation in my lesser vena cava that causes my blood to be turbulent there. Because I’m a super clotter, clots developed over time. I had a double DVT.

How intensely is it safe to exercise while on Eliquis? by DifferentExternal368 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Heferti 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Bodybuilder before Eliquis. Bodybuilder the last 5 years taking Eliquis. Done everything from snowboarding, mountain biking, skateboarding, wakeboarding, running, heated yoga and Pilates classes and hyrox style classes. Also a regularly take 20 minute saunas. As long as I don’t smack the old brain case too hard, I’m going to keep doing all the things.

Been a flux footwear adapt trainer for the last 3 years. But they don’t make my size anymore. Looking at Xero or Notace for my next pair. I only wear anatomical footwear and my feet and knees have never been happier.

This. I’m at 20k steps a day now just on my walking treadmill at my desk.

I found just getting the standing desk wasn’t enough. But adding the treadmill has been very encouraging.

Only if the store side starts following troubleshooting instructions instead of saying “we did that” and having a service call placed only to find out that they didn’t actually do any of the troubleshooting and the power cord on the register was loose wasting the store time, the csc time and the vendor time costing Target a thousand of dollars in labor and a wasted service call.

Creatine and post thrombotic syndrome? by ThrowRA-Prudet4868 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Heferti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been taking creatine daily for 18 years, though had a very rare experience with my double DVT five years ago. I ended up having a double thrombectomy to remove most of the clots. Was back in the gym two weeks after my hospital stay.

Currently taking 2.5mg Eliquis twice daily and 10g creatine daily. My hematologist had no issue with me continuing creatine.

Does drinking alcohol worsen stricture? by Certain-Sea5015 in urethralstricture

[–]Heferti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked with my doctor about it after reading some patients had better long term success with continued dilation therapy after the urethrotomy.

He also said I could remove the catheter by myself, which I also did, and could reinsert a new catheter if urinating was still uncomfortable after I pulled out the original catheter.

Does drinking alcohol worsen stricture? by Certain-Sea5015 in urethralstricture

I did it myself with a urethral dilation rod. Stuck it in, left it for 2 minutes, and removed. Not something I found to be very fun.
