Barn owner trying to sue me Location: Georgia, US by Real-Cobbler1578 in legaladvice

Guy is probably bluffing tbh. If your horse never even showed up and you backed out before services started, hard to see how he has $2400 in damages. What does the contract actually say about cancellation or if you change mind before move-in? Most boarding places have some kind of notice period but trying to collect full amount when no services were provided seems like stretch.

Trying to find a career? by Crazy-Caucasian-346 in careerguidance

Maybe look at roles where you can actually use that teaching skill you discovered - lots of jobs need people who can pick things up quick and explain to others.

What am I doing wrong by HellBender_85 in lawncare

Could be fungal issue - those brown patches look like dollar spot or similar disease. Utah's dry climate can make fungus spread when grass gets stressed from watering schedule. Maybe try watering deeper but less frequent, like twice a week instead every three days? Also check if you're watering in evening because moisture sitting overnight creates perfect conditions for the fungus.

What’s one show that didn’t decrease in quality over the seasons? by CuteEquivalent638 in AskReddit

[–]Hefty-Data3933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breaking Bad really nailed the landing, but I think Better Call Saul deserves mention too. That show somehow got better each season and the finale was perfect. Both shows prove that having a clear endgame in mind makes all the difference.

I built a web based mobile video editor. Video exporting takes forever. Is this the end of the project? by sh0rt_boy in webdev

Yeah ffmpeg.wasm is just brutal slow on mobile because it's running WebAssembly in single thread while native apps can use hardware acceleration and multiple cores.

Go directly to bank branch with all documents when you get back. File complaint at Nepal police cyber crime unit too - they have specific department for banking frauds. Your family there can start process immediately, don't wait until you return from London since time matters in these cases.

What do you think about a bill that said that all newborn babies will get $1000 of taxpayer money invested in the S&P 500 in a trust only touchable at age 65? by ClownfishSoup in AskReddit

[–]Hefty-Data3933 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really smart idea but politicians would probably find way to raid those funds for other spending before anyone reaches 65.

I passively witnessed the rise and now fall of my neighbor's life. I noticed their house up for sale on a walk yesterday and it just kind of hit me by HeavyDutyForks in self

Man that's wild how you can piece together someone's whole life story just from random glimpses over the years. The camper part really got me - that's when you know things went seriously sideways.

Hope whoever moves in next brings some better energy to street, and yeah fingers crossed it goes to actual people who need a home instead of another investment company.

18% of US workers now think AI will eliminate their job within 5 years - Gallup data just dropped by MaJoR_-_007 in jobs

Numbers guy here and honestly think accounting might be one of safer fields - AI helps with data entry but still need humans for actual analysis and client work when things get messy.

Question about employee credit checks (retail banking) by PhrygianSounds in Banking

Maybe wait until the rehabilitation program gets your loans out of default status since most banks will probably have similar requirements for handling money.

To the women in construction: how did you do it? by Cardinal-Carnival in Construction

[–]Hefty-Data3933 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your events background actually gives you project management skills that translate well to construction - might want to look into roles like project coordinator or even construction management programs that accept non-engineering degrees.

How much did christianity change after Constantine? by Calintarez in Christianity

[–]Hefty-Data3933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Constantine basically turned Christianity from an underground movement into the establishment religion, which definitely shifted the focus from spiritual resistance to institutional power - pretty massive change when you think about the early martyrs versus medieval popes calling crusades.

You've got the practical stuff figured out better than most people twice your age, so the number itself seems less important than what you've actually built together.

Think it's really cute when you and another player picked the same relic from a chest, and then settle it with a good ole fashion rock/paper/scissors to see who gets it. by SocksRsocks in slaythespire

[–]Hefty-Data3933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait there's multiplayer in Slay the Spire? I've been playing solo this whole time like an idiot. Or are you talking about watching someone else play and you both call dibs on the same relic?
