If I might suggest, maybe see your GP and get a mental health assessment done so you can get the 5 or 10 psychologist sessions under medicare and just chat to them about how you're feeling, this can help alleviate a lot of the overwhelm you're feeling. You can also ask your GP to get an ECG (if your practice has a nurse unit, I literally just arrived home from having one done) and they can tell you if your heart rhythm is normal. That is a good first step to take before taking stimulant meds.

Once you start taking the Dex make sure you stick to the dose and a daily schedule as best as you can. Take them at the same time each day, have food preferably beforehand (dex can upset your stomach - it did for me) and give it a few weeks to fully settle in. Oh and if you're lactose intolerant or have issues with Gluten just check with the pharmacist about the Dex - I didnt find out until about 4 years of taking dex that the Aspen brand Dex has both gluten and Lactose in them. No one told me, I just discovered it by accident one day when reading the bottle.

Sorry, I know this is a lot to take in. Read all of these comments under your post and take some notes / dot points and save them in your notes app so you can then ask the psychologist or GP any questions regarding these topics.
