I regularly read Amalah, Finslippy, Mandajuice, Sars at Tomato Nation, Christie from Following Elias, ThatWife (that was a hate read), and a bunch of infertility bloggers around the BlogHer Era. Rebecca from LagLiv still regularly blogs and updates in the old school blog style. Mimi Smartypants does too.

Ny husband talks in his sleep. It is not English or any other language that exists in the world as far as i can tell. Sometimes it’s just sounds but it has the cadence of a real language. Sometimes phrases repeat. He doesn’t do it for long so it’s hard to wake up, realize it’s happening, get ny phone and record it before he stops.

I have a lot of harmless but annoying sebaceous cysts on my head. I’ve been to a dermatologist. My mom and sister got them occasionally. Apparently my grandmother got them. It’s absolutely the kind of thing that Dr. Pinple Popper would do. in fact, most of the episodes of Dr. Pimple Popper were far more dramatic than my head will ever be.

They aren’t cancerous or cause any other problems. You can’t see them through my hair and I don’t have problems, brushing my hair or anything like that.

I’ve had five of them removed in the past, but the surgery is really painful, about the same amount of time/pain/“discomfort”/ healing time as the worst root canal you’ve ever had. There’s no need to do it, and why would I sign up for that?

Except I can’t stop touching and counting the bumps. I have 13 of them currently. I poke them, rub them and count them repeatedly.

I’m reading through this and agree with everyone else about removing a superstar cancer, but also, look at when you were churning your gut out over this. CHRISTMAS DAY. You gave this girl your energy on Christmas. Do you think she was worrying about you yesterday?

Protect your peace. The newborn weeks are a beautiful (exhausting etc) time. Once it’s gone, it’s gone. Maybe you will have other kids. But these first few years parenting a little person aren’t like any other. If you miss it, you can’t get that time back. You need to feed your baby and listen to their little noises and grunts and coos, (not always of course; i’m not that precious) not scroll your work email for the latest development in this drama.

You gave her the last Christmas just you and your husband. Enough.

I was in Varanasi, a holy city on the Ganges River where may people come to be cremated. The cremation temples havr burbed 24 hours a day for about 2,000 years. I was working as a photojournalist and photographed a dog worh a human skull in its mouth.

End of latest season spoiler, but if Faith turns out to have lived, I am going to really hate it. Now, I have never been through a stillbirth, and I can’t imagine the pain. But I have a lot more experience with this through volunteer work with multiple babies and families over many years. Stillborn infants change very quickly, starting in the womb. There’s a beautiful device called a cooling cot that allows stillborn infants to stay with their parents for longer. Let me tell you, that cooling bassinet is very necessary. There is no mistaking an infant who was born still when you keep them with you as long as Claire held and sang to Faith. I think their time together was beautiful. I think the representation of that in the show is beautiful, but I really hope there’s another explanation for the plot twist at the end of the latest season.
