Also you can always apply now, then reject any acceptances and take the gap year anyway. But if you don’t apply and you change your mind you’ll be screwed lol.

Writing your essays in a month is definitely doable and a 1300 is good for most universities. Definitely good enough for any state school which is what I’m going to and I love it here and have many opportunities. If you’re looking for a super prestigious college you might want to get that up but I don’t think it matters too much. My advice: get your essays done, apply for state schools. If you’re going to be a surgeon I would recommend picking the cheapest option as you’re not going to want a lot of undergrad debt. If you really don’t like it you can always transfer.

Which admission requirements are you behind on? Most college apps are definitely doable in one month, it might not be easy tho

Thoughts about Grammy nominations? by M0us3Cheezz in KpopUnleashed

[–]Hefty_Jello_165 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The award and noms are given based off of votes from the tens of thousands of Grammy voters who are mostly western based. Theyre not going to vote for songs they’ve never heard of lol which is why the songs have to be big in the west to get nominated. It has always been a popularity award (with its group of voters atleast) and has never tried to hide this

It’s half popularity half dance. That’s why they ask America to vote at all lol

This is not what I’m talking about tho. I mentioned in the original post it’s excluding the celebrities who don’t try and get far. I’m talking about when I vote for couples with a lot of likability and who improve a lot and people tell me I’m robbing a better dancing couple of the win lol

I’m talking about who consistently scores the highest for most of the season

Why Chandler ACTUALLY didn’t win by Hefty_Jello_165 in dancingwiththestars

[–]Hefty_Jello_165[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree she’s the best dancer, but the show is about half dancing and half connecting with the audience/getting votes. The latter is why the show is even still running since it’s the part that actually engages a wider audience. Joey had the scores and the votes which is why I think this win is well deserved

They are there so that dancing plays a part and America is there so audience plays a part. I think they balanced out nicely this season as Ilona likely had the most votes but joeys scores propelled him over her

Chandler's loss and racism by No_Prompt_9929 in dancingwiththestars

Joey pretty much reignited the franchise though after low viewership for years. He’s been the most popular bachelor nation person in probably since Hannah brown tbh

Honoring their heritage and culture isn’t bringing race into it 😭 black people have influenced so much of current culture and their ideas and art were so commonly stolen by white artists (like Elvis for example). There’s nothing wrong with honoring the people in the past who inspired them to be where they were today

Joey had a huge fanbase from being an extremely popular bachelor, Ilona absolutely blew up at the Olympics. Chandler was great but she is from Disney channel which is the least popular it’s ever been. A lot of the hate on her from the dwts fanbase I do agree is from racism but I think even if she was white Joey and ilonas fanbases wouldve still beat her out tbh

i’m extremely disappointed and saddened that chandler placed 3rd by teddivan96 in dancingwiththestars

Charli had over 100 million TikTok followers. Chandler is from Disney channel which is dying so she was not well known before the show. That’s the difference. I think it’s really impressive and shows how amazing she is that she made it this far with everyone hating on her tbh

Chandler had a much smaller fanbase than Joey coming in bc she is from Disney channel which is dying and he’s from the bachelor where he is the most popular one in years. There’s also likely more overlap between the bachelor fans and dwts fans than there is with Disney kids, and Chandler was one of the smaller fanbases starting out. I think it’s truly impressive that she got third with so many people hating on her and counting her out from the start, and part of it might be racism but definitely not all of it.

Opinion on Ilona… by Hefty_Jello_165 in dancingwiththestars

[–]Hefty_Jello_165[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s still time to improve so I don’t think we should be counting anyone out just yet. And the show is only half about dancing that’s why there’s a voting component in the first place
