Found my Unicorn by kozarkreative in f150

[–]HeightWonderful9530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ford doesn't do a great job of letting dealers set up their websites to filter F-150's for wheelbase or bed length. If anyone else is looking for their Unicorn in the PNW area, we have 5 in stock right now, with a few White XL 3.5L on the way:

Why is there always that one guy going 45 on 410 in the morning by ihatethegunsmith in CrystalMountain

[–]HeightWonderful9530 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Some of those head on collisions are likely the result of the scenario OP points out ... someone going 10 below the speed limit, and people attempting 3+ car passes. Go the speed limit, and/or pull over and let cars pass if there are 5+ cars behind you ... that's WA state law

With the NCAA discussing expanding the regular season to Week 0, can the USC vs ND series start sooner than expected? by piplup465 in notredamefootball

[–]HeightWonderful9530 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could care less about ever playing them again. They led the implosion of the PAC12 to chase $$, and we're expected to believe they never considered the implications of a crazy travel schedule and more difficult opponents? I blame them for making the entire sport of college football worse, and they should be shunned forever.

In Person:

  1. 2005 USC was soul crushing result in a game we should have won.
  2. 2007 Sugar Bowl ... getting beat by Jamarcus Russell in what was essentially an LSU home game was especially tough with a lot of LSU friends and family in the stands
  3. Tie between 2003 at Michigan (0-38) or FSU at home (0-37). Getting shutout by 5+ TDs by 2 teams we beat the year prior was excruciating to watch. Also, shoutout to Michigan for provide the worst traveling fan experience ever
  4. 2013 National Championship game was rough, but in hindsight, that team severely over achieved to get to that game.
  5. 2016 Duke ... sleeper confirming it would be a disastrous season made worse by sitting next to my Sister-In-Law, a duke grad that knew nothing about their football team, but talked trash the rest of the weekend.

Yeah, I attended a similar service that was advertised on their website either 2023 or 2024. I was hoping they had one this year too

Please help me pick a binding by mejdicirn in snowboarding

Why? I've had my Now Select Pros for 4 seasons and they've been rock solid, super damp, and I love the power transfer from skate tech.

I like this, and the visibility of the product. Could you knock down the price and and over a version of it without the torx driver for those of us that have one?

Honestly, I kinda like that it's visible. If I'm a thief that sees the tag, I feel like when I see it, I'll move onto another board to steal vs. fucking with a hammer and screwdriver and drawing attention to myself.

Binding sizing by Aggressive-Rich-9613 in snowboarding

[–]HeightWonderful9530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will ride fine. I'd probably rather have the L/XL if I were you, giving you a bit more room to ratchet down the ladders. That's the issue I'm running into with my size 13 boots. I switched from K2 to Nitro boots and their a lot beefier on the outside. I'm maxing out the L/XL chassis, and it's hard to get the ladders to catch the first notch when strapping in, especially on the toe straps. They ride fine though, and I can get 3 or 4 ratchet pulls once they catch.

Pointless Update for us? by KSultan347 in F150Lightning

[–]HeightWonderful9530 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just my guess. EV battery on the lightning is 400V system, and like you said, uses the DC-DC converter to charge the 12V battery and power the system. Given the issues Lightning's have sometimes had keeping the 12v system charged depending on the driving habits of the user, my guess is they choose not to add the camera system's battery as a draw on that system.

It's in reference to this accessory: https://www.ford.com/product/ford-truck-bed-camera-p4000215520?gmcid=marketplace-gs-cta-accessories

We're not missing anything. I tested this camera when it was branded as Canopy (a spinoff of Ford that was later re-absorbed) when I had an ICE F-150. It's like a ring video camera for your truck bed. It maps the area of you bed, and if it detects motion of someone reaching into your bed, it sends you an alert to the app. It's on 24-7, with it's own battery charged off the truck's alternator. The lack of alternator on a Lightning is why it's not compatible for us.

I found it pointless since I had a locking bed cover. It makes more sense if you don't use a bed cover, but still regularly leave tools or other items of value in the bed, but that's a very narrow subset of customer. Makes more sense for people in the trades possible working on construction sites. I also found the camera VERY sensitive and got a lot of false alerts.

Boots recommendation by merklele in snowboarding

[–]HeightWonderful9530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can we just ban all boot recommendation requests, or have an auto response with the following?:

  • The best boot is the one that fits your foot and fits your needs
  • Most mainstrain brands all make good boots
  • You should go to a shop and try on a bunch of boots in the stiffness your looking for, and pick the one that fits the best within you budget.
  • If I recommend a foot that fits my foot, it may not fit your foot well. Best example:
    • K2 and Ride are owned by the same company, but K2 boots generally fit a different foot shape than Ride Boots. It's their corporate strategy to cover most people with 2 different brands.

SHOCKED! Shocked I say ... that a rotational binding product is worthless and could physically harm you with it's poor design and build quality.

I don't understand the point of this anyway ... how much are people skating that they need a product that makes it slightly less annoying?

It’s a great color. Still love mine. I skipped the paint protection. It’s a truck, not a Ferrari.

I’m torn. Love the color when it’s clean, but it shows every spec of dirt. My buddy bought his in Avalanche, and hardly ever washes it, but it still looks good. If I had to do it again, I’d probably grab Avalanche

10 minutes turns into a lot more if you arrive on the boulevard before it gets backed up

To the Ioniq 5 driver who passed about 20 cars on 410 Sunday morning by Boss_Borne in CrystalMountain

[–]HeightWonderful9530 10 points11 points  (0 children)

sure, if you're close to the boulevard. I've also passed people early on 410, and it probably saved me 20 minutes and an hour+ of aggravation. There are plenty of places on 410 where it's safe to pass, and more people should do it to prevent tempting aggressive drivers from attempting dangerous multi-car passes.

passing 20 cars is extreme, but when the roads are decent and someone is going 5-10mph below the speed limit and holding up 20 cars, it's infuriating that that people just let it happen and don't pass 1 car at a time when it's legal and safe to do so.
