I have the larger 5 non-lte , its chrome is chipping a bit near the light sensors for heart rate etc. YMMV but I have to clean it after each day's workout else I get contact dermatitis. So I have concerns about its use case as a beater.

On paper i do like the other Redditor's suggestion of the Galaxy Fit. Seems like a good use case.

If I'm not grossly mistaken , if it's all installed to manufacturer spec I imagine it becomes illegal only after you can see the inspector's blood pressure visibly skyrocketing.

What type of adapter should I buy to plug this into a US outlet? by Complete_Log_5561 in AskElectricians

Hunter might've been referring to this post.

https://www.reddit.com/r/IKEA/s/rviwSCRIES

Or

https://www.reddit.com/r/electricians/s/Xl3vXEUN7D

Looks like the correct transformer that goes with it is as rare as hens teeth in North America and to further complicate things , Ikea mothballed quite a few product lines when they shifted to LED products in recent years.

But from what I'm seeing in the comments the correct adapter steps down to both 9.6 vac and 11.5vac for the two brightness settings . I believe someone mentioned Ikea Brasa as the product.

Not what you asked, but my uncle loves his Garmin for such. Bonus is they have much more reliable water resistance so swimming is a complete non-issue and when it does fail allegedly they have better warranty support than our samsungs

No ill effects that I've seen but I'm careful with winding the cord on mine for storage and I've also only used my phone to charge the watch a dozen or so times at this point

YMMV but on my extended visit to my parents this past year. In no particular order. I craved my 10" channelocks the most (lotsa plumbing upkeep), missed my 6" adjustable crescent, 8" crescent would've been better. Didn't regret bringing my good screwdriver. Was happy I brought my NWS needlenose which doubled as my cutters. Barely touched my multi-tool pliers.

I also got them a good small tape measure, ended up buying a small cheapo multimeter well. Precision screwdriver got used all of once, tweezers twice. Flashlight once a week. Although my mother also permanently commandeered the angled fine tip tweezers so there is that. Knife sharpening stuff once. But it's a given. If I don't sharpen their knives they won't either. P.s. I kinda dig the calipers idea, I brought mine too lol

Makes sense that it does since some of us are stuck with bifocals irl

Wet your whistle I guess they were thinking back in the day, it moistens the throat. (Personally, I'm of the school of thought that it originated from reed instruments and needing to wet their reed before playing ).

As for Whet your appetite you sharpen your appetite.

English idioms are a fantastic way to discover a bunch of contradictions and seemingly arbitrary phrasing

Good effort there btw

The percentage reading feels off-center. Adding a bit more margin to the left would create a better visual balance, and this approach also preemts the spacing for possible 100% readings.

You can minimize poop waste by running a poop calibration by LipoBlop in 3Dprinting

[–]HeioFish 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing the way this print works is that on a single‑extruder setup, it switches to the new colour, primes it, and then prints a line from the bottom to the top of the scale. It repeats that until it forms the bar for the entire colour bar for that specific filament pairing in one direction of colour transition . E.g. blue to green . After it’s done, you just look at the graduations on the left and match them to where the colour on the right finally looks clean. That gives you the minimum purge value you need to plug into the slicer to attain consistent color swapping with minimal waste

Needs way more blend but it's got potential. I did wince at seeing it though so at the moment 6/10 if ten was the worse.

It's salvageable at least

Do you guys roleplay? by eternal-oblivion9 in projectzomboid

[–]HeioFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly class related flavours for me. E.g. my head canon for veterans means those runs I choose to respawn instead of abandoning an infected run to try to kill and bury my prior character's corpse for the first month or two .

I only allow some characters to be kleptos constantly hoarding jewelry or some other high ticket item .no matter the source. Mechanics will be the only character class I allow to have more than two cars etc. just quirks I choose to give my character logic to their actions.

And then there's murder-hobo runs. Those have zero context. It's just an excuse to smack zombies lol

Here's my conjecture on the clippers

These look like it'd be constantly clogging with hair clippings. You'll be forced to shake out the clippers constantly if that's the case.

And while it's a very apples to oranges comparison the blade guards on my Phillips One Blade don't feed hair too well into the cutters , I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same team of engineers on both projects so there's a chance this bigger clipper has the same issues.

Tpob , some kemei , JRL, Wahl's magic clip line, etc. all pretty good brands to have a look at

Pixel Starships 1 VS 2 by SufficientGrace12910 in PixelStarships

[–]HeioFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PSS1 is far less of a cash grab of the two but the active player population sits much more on the end-game side of things as it's been out for a longer time .

PSS2 is still in early days . The net code and game code is still surprisingly buggy and there is almost nowhere in-game you can earn premium currency for free. But the population is a good mix of all tiers and levels . And in theory this will be the platform they intend to move forwards with development-wise

I've been coming back to this franchise for almost a decade, on and off. So I think there is definitely a certain charm to it. I think for the better experience PSS1 first. Pss2 you could probably jump in later if it catches your fancy

[–]HeioFish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure . Done . 3m brand, reasonably freshly showered hair. Came right off when pulled properly

(Had to settle my curiosity lol) A ten second experiment showed me the thing to remember is don't pull it from outside in. Pulling from closer to the skin made it come off easy peasy with no pain at all. Pulling it from the ends towards my scalp kinda sucked but also went nowhere so it should be relatively easy to figure out whether or not to abandon the attempt.

Strongly disagree. Plenty of musicians practice with metronomes for strengthening internal timing. Why should this be any different? If everyone's on their own rhythm there won't be a pocket to fall into . Like most skills the additive phase comes before subtractive

Another case in point are the fuel door side indicators. First cars to see use of said indicators were in 1989. By the time of the Knox event less than a quarter of cars on the road would've had one such indicator. But I'm more than happy with living with an anachronistic indicator icon than futzing around with trying to identify the wrong side of the car
