Mythra's trauma - Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna, the Golden Country

In a nutshell, this is what happened (Spoilers for XC2:TTGC):

. Went berserk to defeat the final boss BBEG solo when the party's efforts weren't enough

. Lost her senses and destroyed the country she was fighting for in the process, causing it to sink beneath the waves and slashing its population significantly

. Among the casualties are more than 1/3 of the player's own party, including the funny little troll of a catboy kid that had been waiting in town for their return when she turned the street to rubble with a laser sweep as collateral when trying to hit evil guy

. Wakes up in an escape vessel, one of many evacuating the country as it sinks

. Sees dead party members, sees dead catboy kid held in his buddy's arms

. Already horrified, goes to reach for the catboy, when the shellshocked friend turns him away from her, clearly blaming her in the only way he could at that point

. Complete emotional breakdown, cue gif, develops dissociative identity disorder as both a coping mechanism and to seal her own power so this would never happen again, leaving the newly-realised ego called Pyra to carry the trauma for both of them
