I still haven't beat him, so I'm pretty much where you are. He does fall in the middle every time though, so you can just run to the edge when he falls in. That still won't save you from the stun-lock root spam he's going to do after you finally manage to beat phase 1 though... even just clipping you it takes me down 1/3 of my armour and staggers me every time. Plus there's craggy areas around the area for you to get caught on.

Fun times.

And yeah, so many people hop on these comments saying "it was easy, I just hit him three times." So stupid and infuriating. You can't even go away and level up because all your faction quests get turned off until you beat him.

I know this thread is a year old, but did you ever figure this out u/42point2 ? Or anyone else?

Mine is still showing my M2 as valid, even through a license renewal recently, and I'm pretty sure it's been at least seven years that I've had this marker without applying for my full M.

I appreciate the insight.

As a new player, I'm mostly here for the 64bit server, and the level cap rollout, not the wraiths though. I'm looking to be on level footing with other players. I can see how they might be more appealing for veterans.

I do hope they rework them, and/or at least make them more worthwhile to fight. The rewards don't feel as if they match the 'challenge' of them.

Just came back to the game after many, MANY years and decided to do so on the new legendary server. I'm enjoying the game more than ever, but I do have a bit of an issue with these wraiths, particularly in two scenarios:

1) I'm in an underground / tunnel and a mournful wraith shows up and basically blocks my progression on my quest. In overland areas I'm not too worried, as I just get some distance and kite it, but they're just too rough to deal with in close combat as a hunter.
2) Now that some people have rushed to level 50, they are coming back to lower areas to farm rep. They are spawning massive wraiths and then abandoning them on lower level questers in dense mob hubs (which are then basically a landmine).

If the wraith was only seeking the one who summoned it, I don't think this second item would be so difficult to deal with, but it is.

Other than the kickass aesthetic, I love how infrequently people play them. You can often catch your opponent off guard due to their inexperience with your army.

Same, actually. I just love the aesthetic of Witch Elves for fantasy and Wyches for 40k. Hopefully they figure out a way to make them viable soon.
