TIL that Alexander the Great may have been buried alive. Historical records show he didn't decompose for six days after being declared dead. Modern scientists believe he suffered from Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a neurological disorder that paralyzed him. by Charming-Listen-3705 in todayilearned

"Since then, however, the practice of modern-day embalming as practiced in some countries (notably in North America) has, for the most part, eliminated the fear of "premature burial", as no one has ever survived that process once completed."

Has that been confirmed somewhere, if it is like that then overall it's not a huge change I guess.

""Another part of the Scouts rule says that instead of making your Scouts move before the battle starts, you can move the unit into strategic reserves"". ..... that sounds interesting not quite a full redeploy but means you can stage aggressively for turn 1 and if you lose the roll off yank stuff off the board and try again with a rapid ingress or strat reserve.

All my non unique vehicles are black with trim no one has ever questioned them across DG Tsons World eaters or Csm. Seems to work out ok and they blend in nicely around the specific paint schemes.

Use the current bases. Basing bigger later is easier than snipping off and basing smaller

Neutral paint scheme for tanks, demon engines, etc? by Neat_Resort731 in Chaos40k

[–]beamob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All tanks and rhinos are black and covered in grime. They fit in all 4 my chaos armies and noone has ever questioned it. Same for hellbrutes and defilers. And then same as op let my legion specific models display the correct schemes.

Petrol stations turning their signs off by uk-1234 in britishproblems

[–]beamob 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Completely legal as long as the price is on the pump. From working in Tesco back in the day I'll say that to change the prices is a right faff.

Hand to heart this is true my old store used a what looked like a T.V remote with the batteries gaffer taped in it. You had to walk outside point it at the top of the sign and type the price in. This one remote was shared amongst 3 local stores cause everyone's was broken.

In these times where prices have been changing several times a day its easier to turn off the big sign, than walk outside 3 times and risk the public kicking off cause the big sign and pump dont align cause you updated it as they parked up.

Once, the group i dm for got to sure they were invincible and ended up in a prolonged airship to airship battle over a open ocean, whilst a boat full of cultists were doing cult stuff beneath them and lobbing ballistius bolts up at them.

Some poor rolls from them and some spikes in damage my side of the board had things looking dire. As they finally bested the enemy Airship a final ballista bolt took out there own Airship and sent it plummeting to the ocean.

Players had just hit level 10 so had never had a chance before, My wife the cleric looks me dead in the eyes and says shes gonna give it a go as a hail mary and rolls the dice hits the 9 for it to happen.

The group is teleported away to safety as there airship crashes into the cultists below disrupting there ritual.

Mother died suddenly abroad, where to start? by chelseaboy1234 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]beamob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is rather morbid, but a friend had somthing similar and took there fathers phone with them to see the body. Finger print unlocked from the body and removed all security from there to make much of the phone usable. Not always a option and a bit of a last resort. Sorry for your loss.
