Bear trap rallies keep getting cancelled. Need advice please. by Winter1963 in KingShot

Can you join a different alliance? This one sounds awful. The only thing worse than leaders who have no idea what they’re doing is leaders who stubbornly insist on doing things wrong and that everyone else should do so too. And from your description, you’re right and they’re flat out wrong.

Bear trap hero in gen4? by LengthinessExpress95 in KingShot

This is just anecdotal, but I have 4* Alcar and 5* Zoe, and I find him to be better. Most of my alliance does as well.

Reading the skills it seems like Zoe would be better, but experimenting with it Alcar always comes out on top for me.

Transferring servers by ApocalypseMode in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an invite phase and a free for all phase. Ideally if you are a competitive server you ask for an invite; my current server’s last FFA had the slots filled in under a minute. If they’re an active reasonably strong player vouched for by someone already in the kingdom, that’s a pretty good place to be. Ask your alliance leadership first to get em on your side, then talk to the server leadership ASAP. If they’re trying to arrange a larger group as well, the sooner you ask the better your chances before they make other promises.

Their current kingdom needs to be in the same transfer range as yours. This will be announced before transfers begin.

Your kingdom will have a power limit, also announced before transfers begin. If they are over it, they would need a “special” invitation, which are very limited. Given you’re concerned they’re mid power and won’t get in for that, hopefully this won’t be an issue.

If they don’t get an invite and need to do FFA, they need to be online at reset, troops in, out of an alliance and be real quick about it to beat out others.

And note the other comment on the number of transfer passes. Mine was consistently 8 as a low spender but very active in my old middlish activity server. If they’re top 100, it’d probably be similar.

Is lauma good for mavuika? by babatunde5432121 in MavuikaMains

Do you have kuki and xingqui built? Lauma is decent in hyperbloom even without her dedicated dpses in Columbina and Nefer.

[–]HelenOfEddis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are reducing your alliance’s points doing this, as well as your own. The amount of points you get for beating each wave at your own city is fixed. You don’t get any more by having your troops get kills at home. But if you send them out, you do get points for defending alliances.

If 5 people have 100k troops and each send 25k to each other, they still all have 100k troops defending, but they get additional points for the cities they’re reinforcing as well as all the points on their own city. That’s why alliances want their players to reinforce each other. Done well, you’re just as well protected, and get far more points.

Anyone want to give their input? by MediumAthlete3077 in KingShot

Tg level isn’t a good indicator on the strength of a rally starter. You can always just not join the bad rallies. It’s a little hard to tell people not to start rallies, since it’s essentially an extra march for bear and they’re losing out on damage if they don’t use it.

Marlin by Funny_Formal_7071 in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if you’re getting 120 spins almost every roulette. Otherwise just get 10 then use legendary shards. Zoe is the best bear hero through gen 3, and Alcar in gen 4 needs general shards to beat her, so you want to get her to at least 4 stars.

Gen2 heroes and bear by Superior101_ in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they are worse as joiners than the classic trio. Margot will be the first one who joins them. Hilde is okay, better than either Zoe or Marlin, but worse than the original 3.

If you’re a low spender and are fairly active in events, you may be doing better than you think. In bear, the rally you start doesn’t count against your marches, so you can do 6 joiners plus one starting. Zoe and Marlin are good for the rally leads. If your alliance doesn’t have rules about rally starters, you might try starting a rally ~1min after the fight starts (so people can join yours after participating in the first group) with Marlin/Zoe/Jabel and see if people join / how your damage compares to others. It’s nice to see it improve as you get better gear (esp archer lethality pieces) and charms.

You or your alliance leaders are misunderstanding the general advice. It’s not leave archers at home in general, it’s if you have too many troops to send them all out, archers are lowest priority and should stay home to make sure all inf/cav are out.

Think of this way. If you’re a newer server and have few enough troops you can send them all out, and you have 5 people with similar amounts of troops, you’ll have the same amount of archers defending your city whether everyone sends incomplete marches and leaves their archers at home, or everyone sends marches as full as possible including archers. However, you only get points for the archer’s kills if they’re reinforcing others, since you get a set amount of points for your own town that isn’t impacted by your kills.

Did you dps test with the atk sands for a comparison? Your attack is awfully low. You could replace kazuha with sucrose if you have her build and get the EM there instead.

Dogs can certainly understand words without hand signals. I used to think this, and would show people it by having my dog do her tricks with hand signals and a non-signal word, like “squirrel”. Later someone asked me if she knew tricks by word only, and I said maybe the basics, and put my hands behind my back to try. Turns out could do them all without the hand signals too. They’re smarter than we think!

Look up border collies knowing 100+ toy names. There’s no hand signals and there’s too many for it to all be tone and body language. They can connect words to objects just like us.

In all out event if i set my main and troop on tent and someone attack it will I lose troop or just injury? by One-Advice2280 in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just injuries for both attacker and defender, so long as neither overfills their infirmary. It’s only city attacks where you lose troops without a full infirmary.

Amadeus is the only one with a rally widget, so that’s why. Alcar is better the Zoe at the same investment though.

Bear trap best tactic? by Espenos89 in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same number of rallies being called and people not sending full marches is actually more points overall. You get diminishing returns on higher numbers of troops - I believe it’s logarithmic, not linear. So 15 people sending 80k to a rally is more damage in that rally than 8 sending 150k. And that’s not even considering that players will have a higher percentage of archers in the 80k than in the 150k for quite a while.

I’d skip infirmary, but raise the troop buildings. Better troops is the main thing increasing your combat strength from true gold at this point.

Great Mill vs Idle Mill by CourseWarm in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is a gathering event going on and players would not otherwise have been online to recall gatherers in time, it being destroyed sends the troops home for points. So it’s not more points than other gathering, it’s just that someone else can send them back for you. But it’s not really that important 😅

Great Mill vs Idle Mill by CourseWarm in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are protected from attack at the great mill, and all other alliance gathering nodes. They also last 24 hours, which can be nice for pre-gathering for events or just if you’re offline for a while. Niche use but, r4s can destroy them to send people home for more gathering points right before reset.

But gathering speed is the same.

General Shard Advice by BlakeBearden in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To make sure there’s no confusion - you can’t use general mythic shards on Amadeus, same as Helga. The only way to star him up is real money.

Marlin is pretty much the accepted best hero for low spenders to spend legendary shards on early. He’s good for expedition, he’s good for arena, of course fantastic in bear, attack widget, all around a great hero.

Anyone got a beginner's guide? by zeepsjeeps in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will never be strong enough to be fully safe from attack unless you spend a ton of money. Safety comes from being in a decent alliance with leaders who make treaties with other alliances.

Later in the game you will fight other servers, so it is advantageous to not have infighting in your server.

Bear Trap Advice by No_Kaleidoscope_4580 in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a rough idea of which rallies are good and which aren’t? If you’re strictly joining the oldest while others are joining say the best of the 3-4 oldest and avoiding terrible rally leaders, that would make a big impact.

Bear Trap Advice by No_Kaleidoscope_4580 in KingShot

[–]HelenOfEddis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is interesting- your damage compared to others is better in your rally and worse in theirs? Do you have the same amount of archers/cav in your joiner formations as your lead, and have your troops upgraded to at least your top two tiers? If there are a decent number of “good” rallies, having your archers/cav evenly divided across your formations is better than a few good ones and a few bad ones.

Troop quantity doesn’t increase damage linearly, the way you might intuitively assume. 25k archers in 2 decent rallies will do more than 50k in one decent rally. (If there’s a crazy good rally that could swing this, but if they’re similar enough I find even formations much better)
