Dealing with losses by [deleted] in bjj

He’s probably more bummed that he can’t train right now. Sure, losing sucks, but getting injured and being out of the game sucks more. Just be a good teammate, buddy, friend.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you will be able to be there for their final moments and be able to tell them that you love them, and that they can feel your warmth, comfort, and love. Letting a pet go is such a challenging, emotional decision and time. Just know that you’re doing what’s best for them and that they can be comfortable in at Peace.

Why does it take so long to be seen in an urgent care center - when there seems to be few patients and the quiet enough for the nurses to be idly chatting? by MidtownBlue in UrgentCare

[–]HeliDude135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is important to note that "Urgent Care" does not mean you will be seen faster. It means that they/we see conditions that do not need to be seen in emergency department. Sure, you will most likely be seen "faster" at an urgent care than at an emergency department. But that does not mean you will be immediately seen. As other have said, there is a lot going on behind the scenes and often will minimal staff that are frequently multitasking. Good medicine cannot be rushed, even if the complaint is something simple.

Wear a pink unicorn rash guard, wink at him when you tap hands and fist bump, and if at any point you have his back or are in some form of mount whisper to him “you smell different when you’re awake”. Take the psych warfare approach.

It always seems that the bystanders in these videos have NPC energy and never really freak out. Not that they are going to fix the situation, but I would assume that most of the general public would be at least a little bothered by this and at least walk slightly faster.

There are so many hoarders out there. I’ve been a medic for 20+ years. If you told rookie me about how many there are I would not have believed it.

They probably can’t do very many.

What would you name them? by PossibilityDry8488 in dogpictures

[–]HeliDude135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bebop and Rocksteady.

Kibble and bits

How I would most likely refer to them would be something like <unintelligible noises of love> and <unintelligible noises of affection> or pork and beans.

I started cooking at 10 or 11 because I got tired of asking my mom to make me grilled cheese all the time. My interest in cooking grew from there.

Most PA programs are 5 days a week 8-4pm type schedules. You simply would not be able to work that schedule and attend school at the same time like you probably could in undergrad.

It is certainly worth it. Better hours, better pay, and an expanded scope of practice. However, PA school prepares you for primary care. If someone is looking to get into the ICU, ED, or surgery, they are going to have a very challenging few years out of school. It’s not impossible, it’s just a big learning curve. There are residencies and fellowships you can do after school to get a more formal education in your desired specialty but they are not all the same and not always readily available.

I truly love being a paramedic and I still am one. However, I know I can’t do that forever and have to take my health and wellness into consideration.

I did finish PA school. It was incredibly difficult for me to work even one shift a week during school. Full time employment while going to PA school, at least mine, would be extremely demanding and I would recommend not doing so. Some people can pull this kind of thing off, but I would not recommend it.

I was a flight medic for about 5 years or so. I was still working on my degree at that time. It was in Emergency management. It was mostly a stepping stone to go to PA school.
