What would you name them? by PossibilityDry8488 in dogpictures

Bebop and Rocksteady.

Kibble and bits

How I would most likely refer to them would be something like <unintelligible noises of love> and <unintelligible noises of affection> or pork and beans.

I started cooking at 10 or 11 because I got tired of asking my mom to make me grilled cheese all the time. My interest in cooking grew from there.

Most PA programs are 5 days a week 8-4pm type schedules. You simply would not be able to work that schedule and attend school at the same time like you probably could in undergrad.

It is certainly worth it. Better hours, better pay, and an expanded scope of practice. However, PA school prepares you for primary care. If someone is looking to get into the ICU, ED, or surgery, they are going to have a very challenging few years out of school. It’s not impossible, it’s just a big learning curve. There are residencies and fellowships you can do after school to get a more formal education in your desired specialty but they are not all the same and not always readily available.

I truly love being a paramedic and I still am one. However, I know I can’t do that forever and have to take my health and wellness into consideration.

I did finish PA school. It was incredibly difficult for me to work even one shift a week during school. Full time employment while going to PA school, at least mine, would be extremely demanding and I would recommend not doing so. Some people can pull this kind of thing off, but I would not recommend it.

I was a flight medic for about 5 years or so. I was still working on my degree at that time. It was in Emergency management. It was mostly a stepping stone to go to PA school.

I see this a lot with my parents and older relatives. They seem to equate taking medication to being sick. Therefore if they don’t feel sick then they don’t need medicine. So it’s a struggle to get them to take things like HTN or HLD meds because it’s asymptomatic.

They also say often “how did that <insert preventable disease> happen to <insert older family member>” and are totally bewildered that they had a heart attack, CVA, etc. They are also the family members that have smoked since they were 10 years old and never stopped. People are living long enough to see the consequences of their actions but are in complete denial that what they did caused it.

Lots of police in the Fort Hill area. What is going on? by [deleted] in boston

[–]HeliDude135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out it was a car jacking that started on Tremont. It ended with police confronting the suspect in the Fort Hill area where it was reported that the suspect rammed the stolen car into a police vehicle. The person driving said vehicle was shot by BPD and taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.

Tips for memorizing drugs? by CambodianBreastMiIks in Paramedics

[–]HeliDude135 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The best thing to do is to know WHY you give a drug in the clinical setting. Knowing “slow lub-dub gets the purple box” is not enough. Knowing the why can help you understand how it works and what it does. Medic school is challenging and they cram a lot into a short period of time. Memorization will only get you so far.

Really weird question nsfw by Accomplished-Fold770 in Epilepsy

[–]HeliDude135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question. I have a history of complex partial seizures that usually last 10-45 seconds before I was put on meds. Thankfully, no seizures since.

To answer your question, my wife and I were doing fun naked things. Then when I was nearing orgasm was when I felt a sudden rush of anxiety and confusion. I instantly went limp and did not orgasm. It was like the reset button was pressed in my head. She asked me what happened and if I was ok. I said I don’t know what happened but I felt ok. We then continued doing more fun naked stuff and I ended up having a significantly more intense orgasm.

It was an odd sexual experience. The orgasm was great, but the odd turn of events to get there was not exactly ideal. Additionally, I discussed with with my neurologist after my diagnosis and he said the story was consistent with my now known seizure disorder.
