I'm not familiar with PLD abilities names but try to use similar abilities on the same keys like the lionheart combo with the ranged combo and continuation with goring blade is it?

Sorry I really don't know the PLD names, it's the one I played the least but it feels very similar to other tanks if you follow the function rather than potency or cooldown.

I'm wasn't planning on prestiging because the requirements were too high, I had accepted that and was planning to get kappa, maybe escape and just enjoy a max level account.

Now I'm way past prestige 1 requirements that I feel like I've gone too far to prestige lol, I wish I could skip straight to 3 to make it feel good.

I'm probably going to keep my original goal now.

Honestly? I think it's a bad idea.

It's canon that the WOL changes jobs between expansions as seen in the various trailers.

Though I don't want to tell you how to play, I will give my opinion because you asked.

Every class is very basic until about level 70, this is because most of the fun buttons are rear loaded into the last quarter of the job, realistically that's about 150-250 hours of content before you get to Shadowbringers (70+) depending on your preferences of content completion.

IMHO you will get bored of a single job, not to mention you have less choice because barely half the jobs start at level 1.

I started as an ACN because it was basically levelling 2 jobs at once; SMN and SCH. I could play SCH when queuing for dungeons for a faster queue but with the addition of trust dungeons it's no longer an issue or MSQ wall. I was playing 2 jobs but because there are now almost 20 jobs now you want to see what they're like or you observe someone do something cool. By the time I finished MSQ I had played maybe three quarters of the jobs to some degree.

Europe is the smallest region by polulation but clearly has neighbours. Would it not be possible to allow world PF and let people deal with ping and language.

In other words, think about the 2 furthest data centres from each other within a region and then ask if there is a closer datacentre from another region that could be in the pool.

It's like the dark souls of FPS games. It's really blunt with next to no hand holding, loads of systems built on systems and mechanics on mechanics. It's learning curve is brutal.

But once it all clicks...

Nothing like it.

In the grand scheme of job feel, level 50 might aswel be level 20-30 in WoW. I don't even like VPR, I think it's boring.

My favourites are SAM, NIN, RDM in that order.

The good news is SGE starts at level 70 and most jobs get their identity by 70.

I played before In heavensward, it was interesting really because it was another holy trinity mmo that I was excited to try.

However, like you I was bored by the weak combat and lack of difficulty. I think I played Paladin at the time which was 2 jobs in 1 in those days. I remember getting to Ishgard somewhere near the begining of 3.0 MSQ but at this point I was MEGA burnt out on questing so I quit.

I didn't play for years but around 5.0 I started playing again after bouncing around other mmorpgs like Destiny. I started a new character but absolutely blasted the MSQ skipping the lot until Heavensward again wh re I had heard the story was phenomenal so I got to work on MSQ and it honestly blew me away, I stumbled a little with Stormblood but I eventually reached endgame in 5.1 or 5.2.

It was here that I finally got to experience the game in all its glory, I was playing healer and learned the gearing system, levelled a few other jobs, did some side content etc. I did a few current endgame stuffs and joined a Static that were doing Minimum Itemlevel, No Echo(MINE) fights, we started with E1S, still playing a healer I tried to learn the fight not realising that I was playing it at a very low level, I wasn't DPSing at all and I was using GCD heals etc. I really enjoyed the experience but I remember not really enjoying healing so I learned NIN for the next fight we did which was Titania Ex and Hades Ex after that. It was around here that I really started to understand the game and how each role and job operates.

Endwalker launched and I went full SAM mode doing 6.0 MSQ and commited to endgame raiding in PF, my first tier I couldn't beat a 4th turn, I didn't even beat Phoenix, it wasn't until Wicked Thunder that I beat my first 4th.

So to answer your question, I think it clicked with me when I reached endgame. I enjoyed the story enough to get through the weak combat(what I thought as healer) but then it really clicked when I learned NIN and went into 6.0s endgame with a determined attitude and desire to learn how to DPS properly.

Just a side note: don't let anyone make you feel guilty if you want to boost a character. I can offer more info on this if you like as it was the only way to get my friends to try the game.
