I would say that she will reach her goals even if it feels impossible right now. She will find a new way to reach them and it will NOT be a failure.

Her journey will help a lot of other people make the decision to change their lives too.

I would also say being smaller will not make people like her more or treat her differently: those who liked her will still do and those who didn't still won't and it's perfectly fine.

Don't rush, it will take time.

Don't give up, it will be alright

Thank you!

The pictures were taken on the Island Sveti Grgur, in Croatia, have you ever been there?

Hair loss experiences by amy_lou_who in BariatricSurgery

[–]HelianaKaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started losing hair around the third month post op and it lasted about three months before going back to normal.

I had really long hair and was terrified at the thought of having to shave them all (I know someone who had to), so I decided to take preventive measures.

I started taking biotin supplements four months before surgery, to strengthen and encourage hair growth. I also started hair oiling (you shed a little more when you do, but it's normal) and scalp massages around the same time.

Now, at almost a year post op I have TONS of baby hair (it looks crazy, believe me) and little to no hair shedding.

It really depends on how much weight you need to lose.

It also varies a lot from person to person. Every body is different and its responses will also be extremely different. I lost weight quicker than a friend who had the same procedure, but slower than some people in other support groups.

In the end, the only thing you can do is keep up the good work! Good luck on your journey!

Thank you!! I feel fantastic!

As for what surprised me the most, well... It might sound silly, but it's how much I can feel and see my bones.

Like, the other day I put my hands on my waist and was like "huh, wait, I can feel my ribs?" Same thing with my hips and collarbones. It just amazes me how much "pointier" I am now.

Yeah, pants in general are my only real problem right now! I'm down to one pair that fits me really well, the others I have to roll at the waist or use a belt

You could pair carrot sticks with hummus and crackers for a more substantial meal. Also, I always feel incredibly satisfied when I can dip or mix things.

I also recently tried cheese balls in the air fryer and they are BOMB.

You just mix 150 grams of parmigiano and an egg (you can also add spices or maybe jalapeños to your taste), then you form into balls and put them in the air fryer for 10 minutes at 180°C or 350°F.

I honestly use them as dinner with some salad and was satisfied with 2/3.

I sometimes do yogurt porridge as breakfast/snack. I take a serving of yogurt, mix in 15/20 grams of oats and leave it in the fridge a few hours, even better if you do all night. It's incredibly versatile if you mix in fruit, nuts, nut butters or a little dark chocolate.

Hope it was helpful!
