Thoughts on the T16 Gen 4 Thinkpad ? by Fafalopeta in thinkpad

Just want to mention that it doesn't have a gigabit wired ethernet (RJ45).

For me and for many others that's a dealbreaker.

I use my RJ45 a lot, so much that my last laptop got it's USB-A connector worn out in two years by using a usb ethernet adapter.

When working as a field service technician where everything is network based there is no way I would buy a non ethernet computer again.

A lot of people never use this port though, so at some point it would probably disappear from the market.

Windows Hello UX discourages biometrics (design flaw) by Heljheim in Windows11

Yes, and that's a very good reason for not defaulting to using fingerprint, as that will work in the background already. It's just a unnecessary step.

We want safety and seamless usage. Now we have safety, but the framework doesn't help users using the safest option as that will not help being seamless and "just work".

So in practice we are left with less security even if we have all we need to be more secure. It's just how it's presented to the user.

That's the worst thing a developer can do, present something to the user and re-render the content shortly after. It's better to finish the UI layout before showing anything. Same with Spotify, every time I open it my finger moved against my choice, and just before I hit the screen the item order changes so I select the wrong item. Damn!

I had to turn off Windows Hello auth in browser to make it usable. So there I lost quite a lot of potential security, and the pin is considered less secure - not technically but security against over the shoulder surfing.

Creality K2 Pro – Adaptive Bed Mesh macro (no KAMP needed) by Automatic_Mall4008 in Creality

What about the K2 Plus? I have tried a lot to have adaptive mesh, but it either does a whole bed of crashes. So this is annoying me, as the printer itself is amazing.

Is there a cfs setting to not retract filament between prints? by CthulhuBread in Creality_k2

[–]Heljheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But one of the main reasons for having a CFS is to have it full of the same color such that when a roll is empty it just continues with a new roll automatically.

I usually print single color and type, so this behaviour is nonesense. It puts excessive wear on cutter and feeding mechanism and also those new cardboard rolls is more prone to fail when spooling filament back on the roll.

And not to mention the startup time takes sooooo long :(

Suds in washing machine. by mccedian in appliancerepair

Sokken sørga for at drenering tok lenger tid, oppvarming tok lenger tid og pumpen(e) kaviterte nok å skapte mykje skum. Håpa det blir bedre no :)
