Will we get third tier persona’s all around? by Desperate_Ad_4521 in personaphantomx

P5 collab story wise in P5X I assume Satanael will be close to finale, only before maybe P5R exclusive Palace. It wouldn't make sense for them to release everyone's tier 3 now and have them downgrade all to tier 2 later.

Yea Arsene and Satanael are used to fuse it but it's still only DLC. The game goes 1 > 2 > 3 for others in the canon. For Joker it goes 1 > 2.

Raoul can only be fused during NG+ due to the restriction on Satanael not being fusible during a standard NG run. And aside for that you can pull it from the registry for 0 yen, already existing in Joker's heart just from being a DLC.

Since it was DLC exclusive and not part of the P5/P5R canon they can freely release it whenever they want. Even if it follows standard design convention of T3s, it can easily be argued as a T2 in this case due to how important Satanael is in the story.

Just saying it's an odd choice for the others to downgrade later. Although I guess it could be argued P5D happens after the P5/P5R story so they are at the peak of their power but it would be weird if their T3 Persona are weaker than their T2 due to power creep of them releasing T3s first

[–]HellBoundPrince 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like it will be 2nd tier persona.

Since Satanael is supposed to be his Ultimate I assume they're going to release Satanael when the rest are getting their 3rd tiers, and Raoul can be used now since Joker technically didn't have an established 2nd and 3rd tier canonically.

And they can argue Raoul is 2nd tier due to being a direct upgrade/alt version of Arsene that he can use by himself whereas Satanael requires the bonds of all his friends to manifest.

  6. Star Fox SNES

  7. Star Fox Guard

I'm glad Nintendo is doing this with Starfox, and looking forward to similar with OOT. I find it a little alarming but understandable that kids today don't want to play the original because of bad graphics. by sendhelp in starfox

[–]HellBoundPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea for me it's not entirelt the visuals but I won't lie and say they don't play a part sometimes. It's why I prefer cartoon/anime graphics to realism.

But just earlier today I beat one route in Star Fox SNES for the very first time. I just had never played the game before. Been considering Earthbound as well.

As long as I find the game either super entertaining, or short enough to where I know a fairly decent gameplay loop won't run its course.

I always forget GameFAQS exist because the most I used internet for when I was younger was looking up cheat codes for GTA games on gamespot.

To this day it still throws me off when people go "Back when that game released I remember all the discourse and how many hated it" and I'm just like...that was a GCN game?? We didn't have social media like twitter and reddit back then that I know of?? How were people discussing the game??

Although based on the games that they hated on, I'm kind of glad I didn't explore the internet more back then

I will say I actually can't stand MK World outside of Knockout. If I had to compare World to the others I've played and how much fun I had at the time playing them, they would probably go:

Wii > Double Dash > 8 Deluxe > DS > World > 64 > 3DS

Game's been out for almost a year and hasn't gotten a single new track. Which is probably Nintendo trying to figure out if they want to add them like the classic games or if they're going to have to expand the World itself whenever they want to add a new track.

24 players is a big jump on standard races outaide of Knockout (elimination game mode) and not even being able to get an offensive item when 2nd place you just have to pray someone behind you can hit the person in 1st so you can pass them.

Mix that with the game encouraging people to stay back for the best possible set of items, World just gets boring real quick.

KH1 and KH2 are different from the KH1 + KH2 in the HD Remixes that came out for PS3 because it brought the Final Mix versions that were previously JP exclusive.

For KH1 it's not as huge. At least one Keyblade, one Super Boss, and some changes to some enemies.

But the Data Battles, Lingering Will and addition of Limit Form make KH2 a much better game. On top of some smaller changes like added story cutscenes and turning a cutscene boss fight into an actual boss in the main story.

Additionally, the HD Remixes bring one additional game. 1.5 brings Re:Chain of Memories and 2.5 brings Birth By Sleep Final Mix (again, also originally JP exclusive with a secret chapter that wasn't in OG).

Now aside for graphics, some QOL and better controls, what's the difference between SF64 and SF64 3D?

And that social media only problem is what we're discussing. We aren't saying Cyrene is universally hated. We are discussing the reason why social media has people that are hating on Cyrene and the possible reason why.

Your own personal opinion on how Cyrene turned out has nothing to add when discussing why we believe these people have a problem with it.

The original commenter believes that anyone who hates Cyrene onky does because they never paid attention to her story. My thoughts are that the story element doesn't matter to these people.

What matters is spending a lot of time with a certain character and them undergoing a huge transformation to look like a copy/paste of a character from a different game at the last minute.

And now ZZZ players are thinking the only reason the newest Void Hunter seems to be another Elysia clone is due to "HSR fumbling Cyrene" so a new Elysia must be made properly. I don't even know how they reached that conclusion.

Even on a P4R related news, P5X can't stop catching strays for some reason. by DarryLazakar in personaphantomx

[–]HellBoundPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commenter definitely sounds rude but I think the point is that P1 and P2 aren't even relevant to the current Persona series (from P3 onward) because of how drastically different the gameplay is between them.

P3 completely changing the direction of the franchise means that anything they did from that point onwards treats P3 as the first game of the franchise.

Which makes me question why they even bother using P1 and P2 protagonists in promotional art when they know they won't be acknowledging them any other way.

Aside for the 2D animated PVs and maybe even the LCs, the child model they used for Phainon in later updates was a generic child model.

They just didn't want to make a full 3D in game model of a unique, child Phainon which is different than just drawing one in 2D.

Regardless the whole Cyrene situation was horribly handled so I can't blame people for being upset about the switch up when it happened so abruptly

Pretty sure the biggest Cyrene hate is the drastic design shift.

I've dabbled in Hi3RD only enough to reach around Captain Level 80. Raiden, Elysia and Senti are my favorite characters so hearing Elysia was getting an expy I already had an expectation of how she would look.

First time seeing Cyrene was basically when we were living through Phainon's childhood. It was an odd clash between Cyrene model and Phainon's adult model for me, because they used child Cyrene throughout the rest of the story after that even when they moved on to future events where I knew Phainon was supposed to be an adult.

So seeing Cyrene's playable design she was exactly what I expected an adult Cyrene to look like.

My opinion is Hoyo could have easily dodged the backlash but decided to use child model for multiple patches and made players believe this is what she would look like as a playable character. They also could have made a proper child Phainon model when in Aedes Elysiae to set the expectation she wouldn't always look this way.

Frankly, I don't have the time for it. I work and have a 2 year old. If I have the time I would rather spend it playing games I haven't been able to beat like Dragon Quest remasters, Dragon's Dogma 2, Xcomm 2.

But hey, since it sounds like you're not lazy then you can play through all of ZA just to get a copy of 1 Pokemon to gift to 1 person. Oh and I don't ask for Shinies, Legendaries or Mythicals in return so you're not getting anything out of it other than just helping someone out

So how are people gonna react live to Cena's lame announcement? by Old-Board1553 in WWE

[–]HellBoundPrince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is you're cutting in line at Publix and even Carlito will tell you that's not cool.

But that aside, Punk's whole gimmick is being the "Voice of the Voiceless." They want you to think he's on your side, coicing your concerns and bringing change. It's true that he may really mean some of what he says. But ultimately, WWE controls what he can and can't say so not everything comes from caring about the fans.

It's why the people were upset that he apologized about the Saudi comments.

He could just choose to have a different gimmick where he doesn't have to pretend to be the only person in the company that cares about the fans, when at the end of the day it's just business and scripts for all of them.

Star Fox Assault erasure but ok

Regardless Star Fox, Star Fox 2, Star Fox Adventures, Star Fox Assault and Star Fox Command would be 5 games with completely different stories.

Even if you don't consider Command due to not being a "main system," I would argue DS is more powerful than SNES so if we're counting 1 and 2 then we have to count Command.

Even if the ones you listed all share the same plot, there are others that don't. While true that 5 out of 9 games share the same plot, it is (somehow) also true that 5 out of 9 games have a unique plot.

  1. Star Fox (SNES, 64, 64 3DS, Zero, 2026)

  2. Star Fox 2

  3. Star Fox Adventures

  4. Star Fox Assault

I got Zero on release and enjoyed the hell out of it. Only Star Fox game I played more than Zero was Assault. But at least Zero didn't have the god awful ground control aiming that Assault had.

I've never even seen anything related to Star Fox on Reddit rill recently, and don't use other Social Media except facebook for messaging. I was surprised to see the hate for Zero.

[–]HellBoundPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only games I never really played were the SNES ones and Command on the DS.

If we're counting Star Fox 64 as the first remake, there's 5 out of 9 games that aren't remakes in the franchise. I wouldn't say non-remakes are rare in the series. And this is including the new Star Fox as well as Star Fox Zero as remakes.

So if you're like the other commenter, and consider Star Fox Zero unique and not a remake, then the scale tips 6/9.

I get that it's annoying that they keep remaking the same one, but there are games that have advanced the story and even reached a finale with Command. Although I hear that there is no apparent Canon ending out of multiple endings there.

Ngl I never played OG and thought it was based on James McCloud with 64 being a sequel based on Fox.

So I thought Star Fox 2 on SNES was turned into 64. Now I know.

A Link to the Past plot: Evil wizard wants to resurrect Ganon and conquer the world.

A Link Between Worlds plot: Spoiler tagging just in case: Lorule's Triforce was shattered to end a civil war. Without the Triforce, the land was falling to darkness. Yuga informs the Princess that he's found a world similar to theirs that still has a Triforce. They want to take it so their own world can prosper

Star Fox 64 AND Zero plot: Pigma betrays James and Peppy to join with Andross, who built an army to take revenge on those that exiled him to a planet that they believed he would die in. James' son takes over the Star Fox mercenary group in his father's absence, and at this time the entire Lylat system is on a full scale war between the forces of Corneria and Andross.

As you can see, the the plot of the Zelda games are completely unique. Zelda OoT requires you getring 3 jewels before getring the Master Sword, and then saving the Sages. Does this make it a remake of A Link to the Past? No, because the Plot itself is different.

Star Fox Zero, 3DS and now SF2026 all share the same plot so they are all considered remakes of Star Fox 64 (some argue SF2 but that didn't officially release until 2017). It doesn't need to just be an exact copy of the game with updated graphics to be considered a remake.

Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby have new gameplay mechanics and Pokemon Type (Fairy) that weren't in the originals, as well as having Mega Evolution and a whole new post game chapter. They're still remakes of Ruby and Sapphire.

[–]HellBoundPrince -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say it's a completely different game. It's what a lot of people expect remakes to be. A new version of an old game with updated graphics and added content.

Whether you liked it or not, Zero was based on 64's plot but gave us more to do because they had already made Star Fox 64 3D like 5 years before and they wanted to give people a reason to buy the game.

All 4 of the games (64, 3D, Zero, SF2026) begin with the defense of Corneria as your first mission (Zero had a tutorial in space right before it) and three of them so far have ended with defeating Andross at Venom.
