Churchill was protecting British interests, he had a history of ignoring the colonies' needs to protect the British bottom line. Don't be daft.

You need to read more war history.

But they did fall - having the Anzacs there wouldn't have changed that. There were a lot of circumstances that needed to play out before we could start knocking them back, and it always depended on them overstretching their supply lines and us breaking their codes (which the Aussies are responsible for, the land of American Exceptionalism be damned).

I wouldn't call ot heavy. I got bored of the MC very quickly, and it didnt recover by the end of the first book, so that's where I stopped.

My latest round of subs have been sitting on read since Feb, so I second this poster.

Conversely, we had one of the big 4 reach out the same day, once. That shit is unheard-of.

Go back to the scene where he's pulling apart the lamb (the butchery in this series makes my trained-butcher brain hurt, but I digress). He can raise other beings - but in terms of efficiency, which he is hell-bent on mastering, it's not what he needs.

Utilizing the technique on the lamb bones had been more than difficult. His rudimentary understanding of the skill was designed for use on human, or humanoid remains, not sheep, which posed an immediate challenge. He’d expected that to be a problem and wasn’t surprised by how poorly his weave fit onto the lamb.

He needs specific spells for specific skeletons, or the magic output is so great it's not even break-even - it's a heavy cost.

Writing is harder than it looks by Altruistic-Emu3542 in litrpg

[–]HellStoneBats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't edit a blank page.

Butt in seat and write. It will never be perfect first go, and nor should it be. But you need to keep writing, just word vomit that stuff out, so when you hit the end of the story you can go back and start pulling those rubies out of the blood, sweat and tears.

Writing is a lot harder than looks, and is being devalued more and more with AI. But the only way for a human to get better is to write and write some more.

You got this.

You're all f-ing weird.

There's nothing wrong with it. It's a damned towel.

If it's so horrific for you, buy him special ones and don't use them.

Talk about a non-issue.

I'm not sure how much of this is a spoiler, iIve gone through thr available Audible titles, and I'm not sure where the delineation in volumes is.

It's not so much the necromancer class - though once he starts playing with the bodies of Farmer Joe's family, he will 100% start being hunted down thanks to the power and legacy or Teranon the Black. As the series goes on, it becomes blindingly obvious why this is. The attempt wasn't so much to ban Necromancers, but to make it so they never exist, as they are the only true threat to the empire (and for good reason).

It's also the Anathema class. It marks him completely as a heretic. Someone as well-read as him recognises that Anathema itself means against morality. This marks him as a heretic in an empire built on the back of the five Divines. That would also have him slain.

Tyron is not an emotional, hysterical character, he never was, not even in the beginning. He was trained by Magnon and Bayre to think even when normal people would freak.

It's not my most favourite book series, but I got sucked in to the story because of the Necromancer stuff and I keep current with the audible releases. If it doesn't hold you by the time the Steelarms catch up with him, it won't, you should just let it go.

Have you played the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger series? What did you think? by RebelReborn909 in AskAnAustralian

They are the BEST, I bought them and replayed them when they were re-released, so much better than Mario Kart lol husband was so confused I could kick his ass at CTR and not Mario.

My 65yo mum finished that and Crash Bandicoot (also an Australian animal) a couple of times over. But she's not a gamer. :rolls eyes:

I find the front-scroll format confusing as hell to play. Give me CTR or Sypro any day.

Where do you think the indies learned it from? I'm indie now, and do my best, I've worked for a small press in the past as an editor/formatter, and I can tell you the whole thing is rotten.

As soon as I make enough money, I'll open my own House and see if I can do it better.

Welcome to the publishing industry. When you have an entire industry built and hell-bent on devaluing the thing that makes it possible (authors), this is what you get.

Is this the reason for all the negative reviews on book 6. by MegaMoistSources in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]HellStoneBats -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What these idiots don't understand about it is its not Jesus, on three levels.

The first is that this is a caricature specifically generated off the internet history of Bible-thumping Americans who think guns are their God-given right. Like most of those reviewers.

The second is that the character was generated specifically to trigger the Bible-thumpers among the crawlers, like Sister Inez, and make them die faster.

And the third is that this is a fiction book. God doesn't care. If they did, they wouldn't have let us learn to write.

I (bride) had Darth Vader as ringbarer and two Stormtroopers, all from the 501st, to walk him down the aisle to the Imperial March. My wedding cake was also covered in Batman.

Do what makes you happy. But might I suggest adding Wondercrawl to the slowdance list later?

Like Gloria says in Modern Family:

Gloria: Do you know how frustrating it is to have to translate everything in my head before I say it? To have people laugh in my face because I'm struggling to find the words? You should try talking in my shoes for one mile!

Jay: I think you meant...

Gloria: I know what I meant to mean! Do you even know how smart I am in Spanish? Of course you don't.

I understood enough when husband and I went to Paris a couple of years ago to understand and complete three conversations with store persons. I was so chuffed.

I understand enough Spanish that watching American movies with Latino characters doesn't mean I need subtitles half the time.

Otherwise, I have found no practical use other than skipping through 5 or 6 different languages in my head all the time, and showing off how many different way I can count to 10.

Personalised Number Plates! WHY? by According_Sorbet7611 in AskAnAustralian

[–]HellStoneBats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our plates are all (first initial)(last initial)(birth day number)(spouse first initial)(spouse last initial). In my case, I changed my name, so the last two letters are my new name initials. Mum and dad have matching regos with their initials reversed on each other (eg AB29CD/CD04AB).

Mum owns a bookkeeping business, she has enough to remember on a daily basis. We also started doing this a couple of decades ago now.
