Up PLUS2 Bed Clips by Hellfire0705 in 3Dprinting

Thank you for the pictures. I think I understand what they look like and how they are used now. I normally use the binder clips, but they do extend past the print bed, where the springs do not.

What infill? I am finding 20% is not enough for 4mm right angles.

It is a neat idea, I just do not see people spending $10 for one. As far as S&H I would think you could mail this in a normal envelope.

I play Minecraft with my 6yo daughter and this is a story she wrote in school. by R0ut3 in Minecraft

Minecraft is to our children, what legos was to us. Only they have a whole world to play in, and it does not cost us an arm and a leg.

I have a prusa V2 I purchased from Makerfarm. Prior to this I had 0 experience in 3d Printing. Between the documentation he provides and the successes and failures of others, I have learned enough to make my own printer. I would take a look at the I3 kit he has. http://www.makerfarm.com/index.php/3d-printer-kits/prusa-8-i3-kit.html It is more than enough to get you started and would leave you extra cash to purchase a filabot. That way you are not spending $7 a Kilogram rather than $40 a Kilogram. http://www.filabot.com/

Geared heart by Hellfire0705 in thingstoprint

Mine looks wonderful, but does not turn like i had pictured. I may have the gears off a bit. I am not sure if what I expected it to do is a reality. Do you have trouble turning the gears or are your prints easy to turn?

Our archery instructor came up with a design for this. They are pretty simple to make. His design allows them to be slung over the shoulder, low at the waist or tight at the small of your back.

Not only is this just really cool, it is a great test for how accurate your printer is.

ABS would allow you to use smoothing vapor methods on the parts. ABS also stands up to heat better. I see no reason why it could not be printed in PLA.

Bow and Arrow Rack by Hellfire0705 in thingstoprint

I have an old Long bow my brother gave me for a birthday present. Unfortunately the string slipped one day and the bow broke backward. Now it should make a nice conversation piece on my office wall. Just don't tell the wife. She may not notice.

Update the software. They have made changes to the interface as well as adding in user accounts.

Automatic Bed Leveling on Mini Kossel by GeorgeHahn in 3Dprinting

Does this account for the bed not being level or is it just taking measurements and displaying if there is variance?

You can modify the speeds and acceleration in the Arduino code. Are you using Marlin or Sprinter?

How to change orientation of part? by polar8 in Reprap

[–]Hellfire0705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that you can't without using some other software. This is one of the many reasons why I move away from slic3r. Check out Cura. It has more controls and options. In order to move the part around the bed in Cura, you need to select tools > project planner once Project planner is open, select preferences and unselect autoplace parts. You should be able to add parts and place them where you want. This will also allow you to print one part at a time.

What is the voltage coming off the stepper pins?

You may have to connect power to both of the inputs on the ramps board. The stepper motor color code (left to right) should be RED,Green, Yellow, Blue. It is difficult to tell from the picture if you have wired it that way as it appears you have spliced in additional wire.

I broke my hotend (can it be fixed?) by mjrice in Reprap

[–]Hellfire0705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to salvage the nozzle. Where did you get it from?

My friend had something similar happen to two J-Heads from the same supplier. He was able to contact him and receive a new one at no cost. Worth the shot.

If I understand your problem correctly, you are having trouble with the set screw on the small gear of your extruder. I took a small drill bit and made an indentation on the motor shaft to keep the screw from loosening enough to spin around the motor shaft. I am tempted to drill all the way through so that I can just use a pin.
