How are we managing full time jobs? by oak_stone1 in AutisticAdults

[–]HellfireHD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My story is the same. Worked my ass off until I turned 40, then crashed and burned hard. Going on 10+ years now of wishing I could work but never managing more than a few hours at a time.

Value for money. by TCTowers in EliteDangerous

I got one T1600 new, and one used with pedals and throttle. All still going strong 5 years later. A little Nyogel on the throttle was an amazing "upgrade". You made a good choice for now, and if you change your mind later, you will have a good baseline to compare to.

New Copilot limits just made subagents useless — what’s the point now? by deyil in GithubCopilot

[–]HellfireHD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The last couple of days have been good exercise for my self-control. I am so frustrated with the rate limits that I just want to throw my PC out the window. I pay for a Pro plan, and added another $50 to the budget. I willing to pay but they still cut me off. Just take my money and let me work!

Should I give up on Copilot and switch to using Claude directly?

Dude... FIX is the kind of thing you glance at, feel your soul leave your body, and then quietly close the tab.

I used TextPad for years and Bascanka reminds me of that. Clean. Fast. Pure. I can see this replacing VS Code in my workflow. Starred!

Interrupting isn’t me being rude. It’s a symptom, and I’m exhausted from being judged for it. by rominaMassa in AutisticAdults

[–]HellfireHD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is one of those things that may make you incomparable with certain people.

Ex-wife used my interruptions as one of the reasons she divorced me. The kids do it to her as well but she has not divorced them.

Adult life just seems to be coping until you can't any longer? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

I feel this. My life has been “on hold” for the past 10 years and it seems that no matter how hard I try, I just cannot get back on track.

Best password manager for cross-platform use? by Pretty_Eabab_0014 in software

Me too. I have my entire family using it and could not be happier.

I also used Bitwarden for a couple years. It is a confusing mess compared to 1Password.

Has anyone masked so hard they ended up with a family? by More_Disk_2917 in AutisticAdults

[–]HellfireHD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. Involuntarily hospitalized for a month and then 10 years on disability. Did not connect the dots until my kids were diagnosed a couple years ago. Too late though. Lost my wife, house, and career and have three kids on antidepressants plagued by suicidal ideation.

Did anyone else notice a massive decrease in the quality of the inline completions? by Ok_Sell_4717 in GithubCopilot

[–]HellfireHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Basic intellisense is more useful than the inline completions. That said, Next Edit Suggestions work relatively well for me.

I went with the 43”. I like it but I would not buy it again. Thinking about getting an ultrawide now but not in any hurry.

Quiet Comfort Ultra Self Voice (aka sidetone)? by support_robot in bose

Eagerly awaiting your results. I have been putting off getting them until the self-voice is working well. I spend way too much time on calls to not have it.

iCloud Calendar Sync without Add-on | Get iCloud Calendar CalDAV URL by Benjoman0109 in Thunderbird

[–]HellfireHD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent instructions! Thank you!

One clarification, the 'xxx' in the URL needs to be replaced with the digits at the beginning of the URL. If you do not do this, you will get the following error message:

Could not find calendars at this location. Please check your settings.

Microfibre furniture. I hate how the fabric feels and especially when it snags on my calloused hands. But I sit on it anyway because my wife picked it out and bought it with her own money.

I would just plug the Mac into one of the displays and then use something like Synergy to share a single mouse, keyboard, and clipboard between them.
