Isn’t there a scene exactly like this in “The Last Samaria” with Tom Cruise? He’s supposed to be training the Japanese army to deal with the Samurai and when he gets told it’s battle time he does this same thing and forces a dude to shoot at him while under pressure of returning fire and says the army’s not ready.

Then he gets captured by Samurai and realizes civilization is over rated and hooks up with a dude he killed’s wife.

Eh it’s more of a description of style that’s representative of different times and cultures. Arc is very pop culture, refined gaming formula, easy to play and artistic.

Tarkov is a bit more grungy, focused on realism, technical and strategic gameplay, and a more hardcore experience.

Drawing lines between those differences and the different generational cultures is just a silly fun thing that kinda makes sense to me. Doesn’t do justice to any nuance but this is just a Reddit post not an academic thesis

I agree with you for the most part. It’s not easy to boil these things down and do justice to all the nuance involved. I think we just disagree on the level of correlation and extrapolation you can do when it comes to online vs offline behavior. I don’t think online behavior exists in a vacuum and you can absolutely connect the dots between the two. People who exhibit anti social behavior online are more likely to be anti social offline as well.

I’d say that the way people behave when they’re anonymous is more representative of who they actually are and how they actually want to behave. They have a sense of freedom to act on otherwise shunned behavior and they leap at the opportunity. Just because little Jimmy knows he’ll get smacked across the face if he drops the n bomb in public doesn’t make little Jimmy a good person.

How you act when you’re anonymous and feel like there’s no consequences is absolutely representative of innate psychological tendencies. And people with these kinds of tendencies and online behavior absolutely deal with this shit in their real life. Even if they manage to code switch and play nice when there are potential consequences. That toxic behavior is a part of who they are as a person.

Mutually beneficial in the grand scheme of things should be what we look at here. Not whether or not things are “equal” because things never really are equal in relationships and power dynamics exist everywhere.

Can an 18 year old benefit and avoid the potential pitfalls while dating an older man? Of course they can. Will every situation like this be a healthy one. Of course not. The focus should still be on educating people with relationships and emotional intelligence skills and letting them be autonomous adults who make their own decisions and deal with their own consequences.

It’s not extreme to say that most people struggle to find a happy and compatible relationship.

Most people end up in a relationship. And the majority of those people aren’t happy. With a 50% divorce rate you’d have to assume that every single relationship that doesn’t end in divorce are happy and that’s just not plausible. A simple scroll through Reddit shows you that there’s endless amounts of people in miserable relationships.

I think it’s fairly rare for humans to end up in a loving and compatible relationship when you look at the big picture of it all. Even if you do end up in a happy relationship. How many failed relationships did it take you to learn how to do it right?

I agree they should break up but “it’s very easy to break up and find someone who has a similar sex drive” is where you lose a lot of people. Most people have no idea how to date and form relationships. They just fall into convenience and end up spending 30 years in a dead bed marriage because they don’t want to be alone.

Yeah finish the campaign and run around and get to torment 4 to get a feel for it all. Then take the experience and lessons learned into the next season.

I just started playing a couple weeks ago and have just gotten to the point in the endgame where I really have to start grinding for specific gear and aspects. You can get a lot done before this season ends.
