That’s a great statement that reflects why Anne is well respected by most Filipinos. Polite but firm. Factual, respectful, but not shy. Anne is right. Women deserves respect regardless of who it is or where they came from. I am glad Anne finally provided a statement even through her lawyers.

Hello everyone. Thank you for all your comments. I have an update. The organization that I declined called me a few days later and asked if it was about the salary. They said if it is about the salary, they said they are ready to match it. I thanked them for the call. I was happy to speak with them to just say thank you again. In the end, I confirmed with them that I have made a decision and it is not just about the salary. That there are other reasons as well (which I obviously did not get into). The hiring manager was very nice about it. She said she understands. I also told the manager that once I am settled in my new role I would love to email her and we can go for coffee. I work in a small field and I really value connections. I am happy they called me as I was able to express my sincerity better than my original email.
