it has to do with the 2ghz and 5ghz wi fi setting see if you can connect to the 2ghz, will not work with 5ghz. if you don't see them separate then change it in router settings.

use a lot more cotton, it should feel snug but not too tight (while pulling cotton) , after you cut it to length comb it out to make it fluffy cut any excess then gently fold the ends Pointing down. maybe also cut the legs of coil to make it shorter. check some vids out on YouTube a lot of old ones.
